I ran into a possibly related bug.
I could work around this specific bug by renaming ~./eclipse, which didn't
help, then renaming it again, and creating a new workspace. That allowed
Eclipse to start, but after that, eclipse hung on showing suggestions.

you want to check for updates again, it requires your password for root
access. I don't see how this should be required, seeing that restarting

Is it a good idea to file a bug for the below seperately?
I knew that my card was no longer supported by fglrx in 9.04. However, I went
ahead and tried to upgrade from 8.10 to 9.04a6 anyway to see what would happen
(it was not on my main computer). The installer correctly identified that my
