I've tested this on a virtual kvm-machine with lucid, and confirmed
that:
1. pango-graphite + ttf-sil-doulos disables GDM login (doesn't show up,
as note in this bug).
2. Upgrading to the 0.9.3-0.1 version
This bug affect Ubuntu 10.04 in that installing pango-graphite plus ttf-
sil-doulos (and some other ttf-sil-*) causes GDM to not be able to auto-
login nor present the user login screen.
Since this is quite a serious issue, it would suggest that pango-
graphite 0.9.3-0.1 was synced from Debian
The linked branch lp:~arand/ubuntu/lucid/pango-graphite/suggested-sru-
deb-sync contains the suggested changes for the SRU.
The corresponding orig.tar.gz can be retrieved via

Ack! Seems like the libfreetype6-dev was pulled along with the rest of
the build-dependencies on Debain, wheras only libfreetype6 is pulled in
on Ubuntu.
Regardless, the build-dependecies were simultaneously superfluous and
