[Bug 85372] MoinMoin reset password email improperly encoded
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: moinmoin-common A bug exists in MoinMoin that means that password reset emails are incorrectly encoded, and so a vital '=' is lost. This bug is known to MoinMoin (see link below) and is apparently fixed in later releases of MoinMoin. Would it be possible to backport the fix (it's a one-liner available at the URL below) to Dapper? http://moinmoin.wikiwikiweb.de/MoinMoinBugs/ResetPasswordEmailImproperlyEncoded ** Affects: moin (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed ** Description changed: Binary package hint: moinmoin-common + A bug exists in MoinMoin that means that password reset emails are + incorrectly encoded, and so a vital '=' is lost. + + This bug is known to MoinMoin (see link below) and is apparently fixed + in later releases of MoinMoin. + + Would it be possible to backport the fix (it's a one-liner available at + the URL below) to Dapper? + http://moinmoin.wikiwikiweb.de/MoinMoinBugs/ResetPasswordEmailImproperlyEncoded -- MoinMoin reset password email improperly encoded https://launchpad.net/bugs/85372 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 73536] Re: Firefox crashes after abrupt X server restart login
I also just restarted X with Ctrl-Alt-backspace, and when I logged back in, there was a crash report for Firefox. However, unlike the original submitter, Firefox isn't automatically restored by my gnome session, so it is probably the Firefox that was open before I restarted X that crashed. Firefox restarted fine, and restored my session, so no biggy really. ** Attachment added: Firefox Crash report. http://librarian.launchpad.net/5941559/_usr_lib_firefox_firefox-bin.1000.crash -- Firefox crashes after abrupt X server restart login https://launchpad.net/bugs/73536 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 82299] Port fix for openssh bug 1086 to dapper
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: openssh-server I'm setting up Dapper on our production work server to replace and aging Fedora machine. I recently came across a problem with OpenSSH X11 forwarding that prevents one of our in house apps from working. Essentially, openssh stops accepting new X11 connections once the controlling session closes, but while the channel is still open. This is reported in OpenSSH bug 1086 (link below) and according to the bug report is fixed in OpenSSH 4.3. I've confirmed this using my desktop Edgy install (where it works). Can this patch be backported to Dapper? I want to keep this server on the LTS release as it's our main work horse, and don't really want to use non-main repository .debs (i.e. try the edgy deb on the dapper system). ** Affects: openssh (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Port fix for openssh bug 1086 to dapper https://launchpad.net/bugs/82299 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Pah! :-) Forgot the link to the openssh bug: http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1086 -- Port fix for openssh bug 1086 to dapper https://launchpad.net/bugs/82299 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 64870] Re: su segfaults when you press Ctrl-D
Unfortunately, we're already using Winbind to perform authentication against a different domain for our Radius server, so I can't use that solution (tho at some point we may combine our domains or something, at which point I'll look into that again). I attempted the rebuild of the woody package, but it didn't work. I'm actually not too concerned about the crash, now that I know it's origin. So since this bug isn't actually in an Ubuntu package, it can probably be closed. [For reference, the error when building the woody package is: checking system version (for dynamic loading)... ./configure: line 1379: syntax error near unexpected token `(' ./configure: line 1379: ` case `(ac_space=' '; set) 21` in' make: *** [configure-stamp] Error 2 debuild: fatal error at line 768: ] -- su segfaults when you press Ctrl-D https://launchpad.net/bugs/64870 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 64877] Re: vncserver looks in the wrong place for rgb.txt
I should have specified when I first opened the bug that to fix it I simply copied /usr/lib/X11/rgb.txt to /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/rgb.txt. (Actually, I symlinked it) So the file there is in the correct format for Xvnc. I didn't try any .vncrc tricks to get it working. -- vncserver looks in the wrong place for rgb.txt https://launchpad.net/bugs/64877 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 64870] su segfaults when you press Ctrl-D
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: login I just installed a fresh Ubuntu 6.06 LTS Server and su segfaults if the first character typed at the 'Password:' prompt is Ctrl-D. [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ su Password: Segmentation fault [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ (obviously I typed a Ctrl-D there to make it crash :-)) I'm unsure if this is really a security issue, but as the 'su' binary is setuid root, it could potentially be a problem and have marked it as such. ** Affects: shadow (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed ** Visibility changed to: Public -- su segfaults when you press Ctrl-D https://launchpad.net/bugs/64870 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 64870] Re: su segfaults when you press Ctrl-D
Yes, we do, sorry. Didn't think about our PAM changes! :-) We want to authenticate against a windows server, using libpam_smb. There was no libpam_smb package in Dapper, so I installed the one from Woody (there isn't one for Sarge either): libpam-smb 1.1.6-1.1woody1. The install went fine, and with the config changes below it also works fine. I've further verified that this is the cause of the problem by backing out the config change below: pressing Ctrl-D then doesn't cause su to segfault. /etc/pam.d/common-auth contains: authsufficient /lib/security/pam_smb_auth.so authsufficient pam_unix.so nullok_secure /etc/pam_smb.conf contains: (though this is likely not very interesting - just the domain and server to authenticate against) ensoft ensoft1 -- su segfaults when you press Ctrl-D https://launchpad.net/bugs/64870 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 64877] vncserver looks in the wrong place for rgb.txt
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: vncserver I recently installed Ubuntu 6.06 LTS Server. I then installed many packages including ubuntu-desktop (and hence related Xorg server) and vncserver. The vncserver process attempts to open /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/rgb.txt. However, the only installed version of that file on my system is at /usr/lib/X11/rgb.txt. (this prevents several apps from working, including making xterm unusable with any colour-related config) The VNC server should be packaged to look in the right place. ** Affects: vnc (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- vncserver looks in the wrong place for rgb.txt https://launchpad.net/bugs/64877 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
