I have this problem as well. Using pasuspender -- /usr/bin/gtk-recordMyDesktop as suggested removes the error alright, but also sound, unfortunately. So this is really not a solution if you need to record sound as I do. recordMyDesktop works fine for me until I start Virtualbox and a VM. [Bug 471078] [NEW] OO Impress could not load image file when using shortcut
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: openoffice.org Inserting a picture using mouse point and click (go to InsertPictureFrom file and choose the file) works just fine, however, if you use the shortcuts to open the Open File windows, you receive the following error when inserting the picture: The file could not be loaded! This goes for all pictures, which get inserted just fine when opening the Open File windows with a mouse. I have not tested if this goes for other objects as well and if it applies to Writer too. I have confirmed this on two computers. And you don't even have to have selected a new language. If you open Language Support and do not choose a new language, and press O.K (instead of cancel), you are prompted for administrator password, and cannot escape it unless you actual know the password. The only option for the user at this point is to hit the power button (end perhaps lose everything open). I cannot my self reproduce the bug in 8.04. When I edit menu items through Alacarte they get renamed just fine.
