[Bug 379528] Re: Laptop lid responds only once on HP nx6310
I tried the latest BIOS available directly from the manufacturer website (HP) and, wow, the bug's gone! :) It even solved another (unimportant) bug: Ubuntu now recognizes when I'm changing the display's brightness! So, this bug can be marked as solved. -- Laptop lid responds only once on HP nx6310 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/379528 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 379535] Re: [i945] Lack of performance with new Intel driver - Intel 945GM
Hello Bryce, thanks for your feedback. I've attached the logs you requested. In the meantime I noticed that through several updates in Ubuntu karmic, my framerate increased to approx. 400 fps. Although this is an improvement, it's still way below the usual framerate. martouf ** Attachment added: output lspci -vvnn, /var/log/Xorg.0.log, /etc/X11/xorg.conf http://launchpadlibrarian.net/27423174/logs.tar.gz -- [i945] Lack of performance with new Intel driver - Intel 945GM https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/379535 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 379535] Re: [i945] Lack of performance with new Intel driver - Intel 945GM
Ok, in that case, this bug report can be closed. I thought glxgears was especially designed for benchmark purposes. At the moment, the driver is stable and has enough performance for compiz desktop effects. -- [i945] Lack of performance with new Intel driver - Intel 945GM https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/379535 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 379528] [NEW] Laptop lid responds only once on HP nx6310
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.30-5-generic Hello, I have noticed that for quite some time since Hardy, the laptop lid doesn't work anymore. It only responds once, with the screen locking and disabling background light correctly. After that, it stops responding, and the ACPI state of the lid doesn't change anymore, therefore making this button useless. I am using Ubuntu Karmic on my HP nx6310, Kernel 2.6.30-5-generic, latest version of all packages. This seems to be kernel related since compiling a custom kernel with make defconfig solves the problem. I sadly wasn't able to find the specific kernel option, maybe someone can help. It may be a little security issue too, because some people may trust Ubuntu locks the screen when closing the laptop, although it doesn't because of the bug. martouf ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Laptop lid responds only once on HP nx6310 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/379528 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 379535] [NEW] Lack of performance with new Intel driver - Intel 945GM
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel Hello, today there has been an update for the xserver-xorg-video-intel packet. This caused my performance to break down immensely. I usually had about 800 fps at glxgears, now it's about 160 fps. I am using Ubuntu Karmic with kernel 2.6.30-5-generic and the latest updates together with an Intel 945GM graphic card. martouf ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Lack of performance with new Intel driver - Intel 945GM https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/379535 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
