[Bug 1480920] [NEW] Black screen on monitor connected via Mini Display Port
Public bug reported: I'm on Dell XPS 13 2015 edition, since about two weeks, my second monitor connected via Mini Display Port doesn't work well ; ie the screen led report it as on, the Settings - Display tools detect it successfully, screen is extended, BUT screen stay black. Sometimes, while I'm working (with the black screen on the second monitor), the second monitor woke up. I can use it, but after automatic screen turn off (while I'm away), the second screen doesn't woke up. If I disconnect-reconnect, the mini display port, nothing happens, and Xorg.0.log doesn't detect something (this is why I've opened the bug on linux-image-generic and not on Xorg). I would be happy to find my second display working again, and help to fix the problem. [Bug 571444] Re: Boot hangs and unable to continue when automount disk in fstab is not available (Off or Disconnected)
My morning thoughts about Default behavior for missing part set to nobootwait : in my opinion, this should not be done ! As if you are in production system, your machine should only start if all prerequisites are satisfied. Imagine what happens if you have /usr missing, with all programs that should start, like apache, mysql, etc dblade: you said This also major issue on servers with remote only access where interactive prompts would not be desired anyway, I have just tested what happens with Debian Etch if there is wrong (missing) devices in /etc/fstab : system don't boot, problem with fsck (the superblock could not be read...). Same behavior on Hardy. I think that if users really want to boot with missing parts, they should explicitly add nobootwait to concerned fstab lines. So for me: * wait for user to press S/M is NOT a bug * missing splash in grub2 conf IS a bug, that don't let users see why their system won't boot * Press S or M does not work for more than one partition on error IS a bug (LP: #655616) -- Boot hangs and unable to continue when automount disk in fstab is not available (Off or Disconnected) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/571444 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 655616] [NEW] Press S or M does not work for more than one partition on error
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: mountall On 10.04 Lucid Server/Desktop installations, if a filesystem that is specified in /etc/fstab cannot be mounted for some reason (USB disk not connected, partition deleted, samba share not available etc.) the boot process hangs displaying Press S to Skip or M for Manual recovery. It works when there is only one partition on error, but with more than one, during the second message, pressing S/M does nothing and boot process hang there. As seen in bug #571444, a workaround is to press alt-sysrq-i and edit your fstab to remove missing drives. This bug looks like bug #571444, but on #571444 there is another issue which is about no plymouth theme, so no message displayed. That's why I've opened a new bug specifically for Press S or M does not work for more than one partition on error problem. I've found when trying to debug/trace the problem that the problem come from plymouth_answer function at lines 3037/3038. the test : if ((plymouth_mnt != NULL) (plymouth_mnt-error != plymouth_error)) return; is true as plymouth_mnt-error variable as been reset to ERROR_NONE I'll post a patch. ** Affects: mountall (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Press S or M does not work for more than one partition on error https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/655616 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 527666] Re: Waiting for /some/partition [SM]
We still experience this bug on lucid today. Bootchart shows that the boot stalls on mountall. The system boots in some cases, so it is possible to compare OK and KO cases. Attached are: * The two bootcharts (OK and KO) ; * The two mountall --debug logs (OK and KO); * Our /etc/fstab The bootcharts clearly show that mountall is the process blocking the boot with LVM (until we press 'S' or 'M'). In the KO case, the mountall debug logs read: Received SIGUSR1 (network device up) try_mount: /WOO waiting for device which seems to be blocking all the depending mounts. ** Attachment added: Bootchart OK http://launchpadlibrarian.net/45079910/bootchart_ok.png -- Waiting for /some/partition [SM] https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/527666 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 89010] filter with set color move folder
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution Hi, I need to do a filter witch will set a color and move the messages to another folder. The problem is that the color is set but when the message move to the other folder, the color is reset. Step to reproduce : 1. Create a new filter on any criteria you want 2. In action part, choose set a color and select for exemple red 3. Add a new action : move to another folder and save... 4. try to send a message that will match your filter... Actual result : The message in inbox is set to red, then move to the other folder. And the color is the default one... Expected result : The message should be moved to the other folder with the red color... Regards Mât ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- filter with set color move folder https://launchpad.net/bugs/89010 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
