[Bug 1858152] Re: fstrim.service no longer trims /home partition
I can confirm this bug. Viewing systemd logs on my system showed the weekly TRIM of /home stopped around the end of October 2019 as reported by Jeffery. This bug was filed upstream (https://github.com/karelzak/util- linux/issues/824) and will affect users with /home on a separate partition. [Bug 1033226] Re: No close option, only restart
From my perusal of the comments, I don't think anybody has mentioned this particular option yet. Restart -- Remind me later -- Don't remind me again This might be a good short-term solution. As discussed, there's a tricky balance with how long you make the interval between repeat nagging, and making sure the user is actually reminded. With this proposed solution, the user opts in to whatever repeat nagging interval we set, but also has the option of opting-out. I also agree with the comment about the shutdown menu button (top right of screen) becoming red acting as a more subtle reminder. The current behaviour it far too reminiscent of Windows update suddenly getting in the way (and threatening to reboot in 30 seconds) during the middle of a presentation. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1033226 Title: No close option, only restart To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/1033226/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 756082] Re: KMyMoney tooltips are blacked out
I am also seeing this on 10.10 using the Ambience theme. Specifically, the tooltip background is black and the text is dark grey, making it unreadable. The text should be white as per the theme settings. If you change the theme (and then change it back) whilst the program is running, the tooltips will work correctly again. Each fresh start of the program sees a return of the problem. I have also seen this in other QT applications under Gnome (eg. Skype) so this bug might lie somewhere other than with KMyMoney. [Bug 697498] Re: [Realtek ALC269VB] No sound from internal speakers, but headphone jack works
I just experienced the same issue on a similar machine (Asus 1015P) with the same ALC269VB chip on an up-to-date Natty and the suspend trick worked. What was disturbing though is that the issue had persisted for several reboots, modification of /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf, alsa force-reloads and a boot into Windows (where the speakers worked). I'd be quite interested in tracking down what actually causes the issue and how it can be fixed but don't really know where to start given I had no success with the usual alsa configuration methods, including alsamixer. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/697498 Title: [Realtek ALC269VB] No sound from internal speakers, but headphone jack works -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 657196] [NEW] Unity menu does not reflect change in gcalctool mode
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: unity OS Version: Maverick RC Unity version: 0.2.46-0ubuntu4 Steps to reproduce: 1) Login to netbook session 2) Open the calculator (gcalctool) 3) Click 'Mode' on the unity menu and select a different mode Expected results: gcalctool will change mode and bullet point in menu will shift to selected mode. Actual result: gcalctool changes mode, bullet point indicator stays in the original position. Upon further trials I noticed that the bullet point always reflects the mode gcalctool was in when it was most recently started. Thus, if you change to scientific, close the program and open it again, the menu will persistently show 'Scientific'. [Bug 151145] Re: Evince print fails with Postscript driver
It now seems fixed/almost fixed. The first PDF I tried (see below) took a very long time between data being sent and a page coming out. Each subsequent page also took some time and the last three didn't print at all (duplex on). However I tried another PDF of similar size and it printed quite quickly with no missing pages - also with duplex. Perhaps the slow printing, for whatever reason it occurred, caused a timeout and thus left the last pages off. Nothing in the cups log to indicate why it failed. After that, I printed an image with EOG, it was fast and successful. [Bug 151145] Evince print fails with Postscript driver
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evince Printer: Brother HL-1850 Driver: Foomatic/Postscript (Recommended) Problem: Printing a pdf from evince results in data being sent to the printer (as evidenced by status light on printer), but the file is never printed. There is an eventual timeout where the job disappears from the queue and the printer data light stops. This occurs with numerous settings (duplex on/off etc) and running evince as root makes no difference. However, with the same driver and settings, no such problem occurs printing a document from OOo Writer or Impress presentation. Selecting a different driver from the list such as hpijs or HL1250 allows printing with evince, but not exactly as desired (duplex and resolution problems). The BRScript-3 (for HL1850N) driver displays the same problem as the Postscript driver. Postscript is the recommended driver and has worked perfectly under previous releases. I'm unable to tell whether the problem is with evince or the driver, but since it works from other programs I'm assuming evince. Only one error in the logs, but this occurs even when a job does print so seems not relevant to the problem.
