I have this also, halfway during the boot, my screenresolution changes or something, because i see at the top of my screen the normal ubuntu logo, but at the bottom of the screen, I can see the half of the upper part. If you have only wireless acces with secure WPA access, you have to find a cable, configure it to have UNSECURE WEP access, and install network-manager, afterwards, one can only hope they set WPA back up, because WEP is unsecure as hell... Now, you can say, network-manager is on the cd, you don't need internet for that, it's explained on the wiki, but how can one look at the wiki without internet?? Some say network-manager isn't installed by default because of some bugs, but what's worse, a bug that affects only a few people, or just ignoring all the WPA users??
