[Bug 1551623] Re: package gconf2 3.2.6-3ubuntu6 failed to install/upgrade: dependency problems - leaving triggers unprocessed
I had almost exactly the same as Maketsi (comment 22) just now in my upgrade from 16.04 to 16.10, with the one difference that my gconf2 is a newer version than theirs and mine is set to manually installed (not sure why). Same experience as hackel (comment 24) too, in that I rebooted (although upgrader had crashed and didn't tell me to reboot, so I wasn't even sure if it was stable enough to reboot) and everything is apparently up to date and stable. # sudo apt upgrade gconf2 [sudo] password for michael: Reading package lists... [Bug 317897] Re: pidgin crash with Pulse Audio
I'm having this exact issue ever since installing Ubuntu 15.10 (Wily Werewolf). It was never an issue before. I had my Pidgin sounds set to use ALSA. Changing them to "Automatic" made no difference. Pidgin crashes and closes itself out seemingly at random, whether I'm using my computer at the time or not. No connection to playing other sounds or videos. installed libpurple version is 2.10.11 installed pulseaudio version is 1:6.0-0ubuntu13 Crash error contains this line: Pidgin GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_poll_get_read_gpollfd: assertion 'set != NULL' failed It looks to be the same as this bug from 7 years ago: https://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/7519 Some good discussion is here: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=47 Everything I'm finding on this is from 2009, though. [Bug 1076815] Re: Pidgin not in messaging menu
I was having this problem in 13.04 final release (fresh install). I googled and found this, from http://askubuntu.com/questions/244603/how- to-keep-pidgin-libnotify-not-blacklisted-from-messaging-menu : Here is what I found out... If you open Pidgin > Tools > plugins, make sure that "libnotify popups 0.14" is checked. Unchecking it removes pidgin from the mesaging menu. If you want to stop the popups then configure the plugin by highlighting the plugin and clicking "configure plugin" then uncheck the boxes by the popups you don't want. See also http://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pidgin- libnotify/+bug/480030 , which seems to be the same issue in Ubuntu 9.10. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1076815 Title: Pidgin not in messaging menu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pidgin/+bug/1076815/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 762918] Re: Natty Screensaver freezes system after some period of inactivity
I updated my kernel to 2.6.38-10, which I had hoped would eliminate the problem, but I just had the same freeze while the "fuzzy flakes" screensaver was on. Going to Ctrl-Alt-F1 and using the command: $killall gnome-screensaver did not do anything at all. I haven't tried any other fixes yet. I use Ctrl+Alt+Backspace to restart X, which is really not ideal and doesn't always work - sometimes I can see the login screen, and other times it loads the login screen but the screen stays black. I can manoeuvre the mouse cursor to the bottom right corner, click, and use the down button on my keyboard to select Restart, which I have to do from memory as I can't see anything. The computer reboots fine when I do that. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/762918 Title: Natty Screensaver freezes system after some period of inactivity To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/acpi/+bug/762918/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
