I am not technical enough in the linux kernel to do this. I need
assisstance please. Will it affect my current linux environment? I have
put a lot of customization work into it.

I am running Ubnutu 14.04 LTS. I can put my computer into suspend mode
successfully. But, when I try to waken the computer from suspend mode, I
never get the signon screen. I just get a blank screen and linux seems
to be in some type of loop. I have to power down my computer
not that technical with Linux yet. Will I lose my current
installation/customization with this test?
Should I backup my total system first?

Will you ever look into this bug? I reported it in June and it is now
the end of August. I really like Ubuntu Linux and everything you stand
for. I think it is the best Linux distro by far. Just wish I could go
into suspend mode to conserve power. Thanks for any help.

I recently upgraded from 12.04 LTS to 14.04 LTS. When my computer goes
into suspend mode and I wake it up Ubuntu does not display the logon
screen. It displays a multi-colored screen and my computer locks up. I
have to power down to get out of the situation. I hope this
