I can't use GSSAPI via sasl to receive data from the ldap server if SSL or TLS is used as I get illegal packet length errors as reported. Documentation of the issue seems like a reasonable way forwards, assuming the crc32c module is also pre-installed into the installer initrd and left as a choice for the sysadmin to add it manually. The first reboot post install would still be affected until adding the module into the the documentation steps could be performed though. Is there some way to make udev or some other process that is aware of the presence of the affected hardware notify the admin to include the module? I see a delay of about 3-4 minutes on boot as the blade tries the 8 ethernet interfaces and times out on the missing libcrc32 module on all of them. The server is booted from a local disk. I'm also seeing intermittent LDAP failures to bind for users with this version of the apache2 package. I think a regression in ssl support for ldap has occured with this version of apache2. I've put one of my two misbehaving servers back to 2.2.14-5ubuntu8.4 to see if the problems go away. A server that has not upgraded from 2.2.14-5ubuntu8.4 has been fine during the periods the 2.2.14-5ubuntu8.6 servers show problems. Apparently this was a SAN issue that didn't force a ro on this filesystem.
