[Bug 1670041] Re: Poor performance of Atheros QCA6174 802.11ac (rev 32) (Killer Wireless 1535)

2017-06-04 Thread Michael Wisniewski
Just adding that I have the same problem on a Dell XPS13 9630 with the
same wifi card. Interesting though that iperf will show poor
performance (10Mbit/s) but web based speedtest pages show 150Mbps.
Windows will also show about 100Mbit/s with iperf running while Ubuntu
will show just 10Mbit/s.

[Bug 219230] Re: Grub fails on server install

2008-04-21 Thread Michael Wisniewski
I downloaded the RC this-morning. The file I downloaded was...

ubuntu-8.04-rc-server-i386.iso

This installed absolutely fine without a single problem. The beta
version would stop when installing grub. But on the RC, this has been
fixed.

Thanks for your help!
Mike

[Bug 219230] [NEW] Grub fails on server install

2008-04-18 Thread Michael Wisniewski
Public bug reported:

Hi!

I've been using...

ubuntu-8.04-beta-server-i386.iso

to install, well, Ubuntu Server. I've been downloading a new iso every
now and then from the repo. This latest one, which I downloaded today,
gives me a strange error when I install Ubuntu. When I get to the grub
install, it says...

grub package failed to install into /target/.

I've tried everything, and it doesn't seem to fix it. The previous ISO's
(beta 8.04 ones) worked fine before on the same hardware. The only
gotcha is that I'm running this on Parallels.

I posted a message in the ubuntu forums and it looks like a few others
are having the same problem.

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=758081

I even tried to use 'gag', which is a bootloader from sourceforge. When
I selected the Ubuntu partition and tried to boot off of it, it said No
boot partition found.

During the partitioning part of the install, I chose Guided - use
entire disk, and let the install do it automatically. After that
failed, I tried to do a 'manual' partition, one partition as /boot (made
bootable with the flag), a root partition as '/', and then a swap
partition. This also failed when it got to the install grub portion
with the same error message.

Thanks!

2007-09-25 Thread Michael Wisniewski
Thanks for the information. Just wondering, would this prevent you
from tuning in channels correctly? I don't know if it's a myth
problem or a v4l problem.

Thanks!
Mike

 Count me too :)

Seriously... fixed package is awaiting for review on mentors.d.n. If
you cannot wait for its propagation to Ubuntu get sources and give
 pbuilder a try :^)

 Take a look there:
