2024-08-14 Thread Mike B
I disabled gnome extensions again, along with the built-in extensions as
well. Issue still persisted.

[Bug 2074089] [NEW] High CPU from gnome-shell when moving mouse

2024-07-25 Thread Mike B
Public bug reported:

Mouse starts stuttering/lagging. If I run `top` in the terminal, I can
see gnome-shell spike to 90%+ CPU usage when I move my mouse. If I stop
moving mouse, it will settle back down. Only 1 gnome-shell extension
installed (Unite), which I tried disabling, but stuttering didn't
change.

Rebooting seems to resolve the mouse stuttering for a while. Problems
seems to arise when uptime is around 7-10 days.

perl is already the newest version (5.26.0-8ubuntu1.1).
You might want to run 'apt --fix-broken install' to correct these.
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
 libperl5.26 : Breaks: libperl5.26:i386 (!= 5.26.0-8ubuntu1) but
5.26.0-8ubuntu1.1 is to be installed
 libperl5.26:i386 : Breaks: libperl5.26 (!= 5.26.0-8ubuntu1.1) but
5.26.0-8ubuntu1 is to be installed
 perl : Depends: libperl5.26 (= 5.26.0-8ubuntu1.1) but 5.26.0-8ubuntu1 is to be
installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt --fix-broken install' with no packages (or
specify a solution).

[Bug 338087] Re: screensaver locks up X

2010-05-19 Thread Mike B.
I'm noticing the same issue with 10.04 AMD_64. The symptoms match Jim's
description in comment #11.

I'm running an integrated GeForce 7025 and Nvidia 9400GT. Three
monitors - three separate xscreens. Let me know what information would
be useful to collect here.

[Bug 235785] Re: Ipod : impossible to drag and drop a file directly from Nautilus to the ipod

2010-05-17 Thread Mike B.
I am also unable to drag music files from Nautilus to Rhythmbox iPod
panel. I have to add these files to my library first, then drag them
over to the iPod section in Rhythmbox. I have also tested dragging from
Rox into Rhythmbox's iPod panel and that does not work either.

Ubuntu 10.04, updated to most recent everything as of 5/15 (though
problem has existed since at least Ubuntu 9.10).

[Bug 392722] Re: No sound in firefox. vedio runing but no sound

2009-10-14 Thread Mike B.
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 317330 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/317330

bug 317330 is related to a different version of Firefox (3.0), not 3.5.
In fact, the latest comment on that bug suggests an upgrade of Firefox
to 3.5, which would most likely bring that bug inline with this one (so
which is the duplicate I am unsure).

I also upgrade my 9.04 to 9.10 and am unable to hear any sound in
Firefox. I have tried following http://www.khattam.info/2009/09/09/solved-sound-problem-in-
ubuntu-9-10-karmic-koala-alpha-4-due-to-pulseaudio/">this advice,
but removing PulseAudio and adding eSound did not help. And yes, I did
re-install the flashplugin-installer package before and after making
these changes.

I also did not see firefox show up in the sound interface.

[Bug 106209] Re: fsck Unable to resolve UUID

2008-02-15 Thread Mike B
I've had this same problem for months after upgrading from edgy to
feisty and have been hitting Ctl+D to bypass.

I'm not sure why this worked, but I was having issues with /dev/hdd. It
would show up fine in /etc/fstab and in vol_id.

I noticed that if I ran blkid, it would NOT show /dev/hdd. Running
"blkid /dev/hdd" seemed to detect it. When running blkid this time, it
showed up!

I rebooted to verify things worked and they did... no UUID errors this
time.

I guess when fsck runs on boot, it must look to the information in blkid
to reference the UUID's/

Anyways, hope this helps people out there. I'm glad to rid this
"annoyance".
