[Bug 1826316] Re: [amdgpu] Wayland sessions detect 4K screens (3840x2160) as only 1280x800.
since it can be reproduced in certain scenarios with ubuntu, kubuntu and arch, is there some output that i should provide to try to track driver issues? new situation: - booted ubuntu iso - resolution were wrong (aka small) - due to inactivity screen was turned off - when i reactivated the screen, resolution was recognized correctly unfortunatelly, turning off the pc and rebooting does not play a role now. i managed to "break" it by installing archlinux. next boot showed problems with graphic card as described. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1826316 Title: [amdgpu] Wayland sessions detect 4K screens (3840x2160) as only 1280x800. [Bug 1826316] Re: [amdgpu] two 4K monitor setup - resolution not properly recognized
so, wayland started working properly. steps: 1. fresh ubuntu install 2. 1st login done in wayland -> max resolution wrongly recognized to be rather low (1200x800); scaling is disabled because of that 3. logout 4. login to xorg -> resolution properly recognized; i could set scaling to 200% 5. logout 6. login to wayland -> resolution properly recognized (i.e. physical monitor resoultion can now be seen in the dropdown menu), but default values for resolution (1200x800) and refresh rate (30) wrongly set; only one monitor (secondary) was usable because the primary was having wrong refresh rate -> when i set refresh rate to 60, primary monitor started to work again. ** Attachment added: "Screenshot from 2019-04-29 07-34-18-wayland-after-xorg-login.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/1826316/+attachment/5259837/+files/Screenshot%20from%202019-04-29%2007-34-18-wayland-after-xorg-login.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1826316 Title: [amdgpu] two 4K monitor setup - resolution not properly recognized To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/1826316/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1808854] [NEW] installation fails on btrfs root partition (multiple-device)
Public bug reported: two drives in latitude e7440 -> idea is to split each drive into 3 paritions 1gb, 25gb and rest (~90gb). two 25gb partitions would be made into one 50gb btrfs stripe filesystem and used as root. two ~90gb partitions would be made into a 180gb btrfs stripe filesystem and used as home. partitions were made manually using fdisk. btrfs was also made manually. ubiquity was then used only to select to which parition those should be mounted to. details below: ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ sudo fdisk -l /dev/sda Disk /dev/sda: 119.2 GiB, 128035676160 bytes, 250069680 sectors Units: sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes Disklabel type: gpt Disk identifier: 9E6AAECF-AD43-924D-AB16-1277434C966A DeviceStart End Sectors Size Type /dev/sda1 2048 2099199 20971521G EFI System /dev/sda2 2099200 54527999 52428800 25G Linux filesystem /dev/sda3 54528000 250069646 195541647 93.2G Linux filesystem ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ sudo fdisk -l /dev/sdb Disk /dev/sdb: 119.2 GiB, 128035676160 bytes, 250069680 sectors Units: sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes Disklabel type: gpt Disk identifier: 84039022-7032-F24C-A7BA-79A078262C10 DeviceStart End Sectors Size Type /dev/sdb1 2048 2099199 20971521G Linux filesystem /dev/sdb2 2099200 54527999 52428800 25G Linux filesystem /dev/sdb3 54528000 250069646 195541647 93.2G Linux filesystem ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ sudo btrfs filesystem show Label: none uuid: 239e7ebd-bdb5-4434-9495-876c626f3137 Total devices 2 FS bytes used 6.13GiB devid1 size 25.00GiB used 5.01GiB path /dev/sda2 devid2 size 25.00GiB used 5.01GiB path /dev/sdb2 Label: none uuid: e6e0e6ea-39d9-43a3-940c-30f33a12a881 Total devices 2 FS bytes used 916.00KiB devid1 size 93.24GiB used 2.01GiB path /dev/sda3 devid2 size 93.24GiB used 2.01GiB path /dev/sdb3 ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 18.10 Package: ubiquity 18.10.12 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.18.0-10.11-generic 4.18.12 Uname: Linux 4.18.0-10-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.10-0ubuntu13 Architecture: amd64 CasperVersion: 1.399 Date: Mon Dec 17 19:48:05 2018 InstallCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/casper/vmlinuz file=/cdrom/preseed/ubuntu.seed boot=casper quiet splash --- LiveMediaBuild: Ubuntu 18.10 "Cosmic Cuttlefish" - Release amd64 (20181017.3) SourcePackage: grub-installer UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: grub-installer (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug cosmic ubiquity-18.10.12 ubuntu -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1808854 Title: installation fails on btrfs root partition (multiple-device) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub-installer/+bug/1808854/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1802631] [NEW] [AX370-Gaming 5, Realtek ALC1220, Green Headphone Out, Front] No sound at all, sound is played through speakers plugged in the back instead of the headphones plugged in the front
Public bug reported: What happens: plugging in headphones in the front jack is detected (icon in the sound settings is changed to headphones correctly), but no sound is played through the headphones. Sound is still reproduced through speakers plugged in the back and the volume settings are being ignored. Expected results: sound plays through the headphones when headphones are plugged in and when they are plugged in, speakers are not playing any audio.
