[Bug 1575651] Re: X stops responding to input on power saving mode

2016-05-07 Thread Muriel
** Tags added: kernel-fixed-upstream

** Description changed:

Once my session has been locked and the screen off, Xserver stops responding
to input ( I can still move the cursor). I can re-activate it by typing in a
tty "xset dpms force on".
If I just lock the screen all works fine.
If I just turn off the monitor (xset dpms force off) all works fine.

The same system (kubuntu 16.04 64bit) on different hardware (nvidia) has
  no problem.

  Symptoms:
After waking the screen from power saving/screensaver, the primary display
wakes but X stops responding to input (the mouse cursor can still move, but
clicking has no effect).
  No errors in dmesg

  Frequency/conditions:
Occurs almost every time the screen enters power saving + locked (possibly
DPMS issue?)

-
The issue does NOT occur when running this kernel:
  - linux-image-4.6.0-996-generic (4.6.0-996.201604262201)
+ - linux-image-4.6.0-040600rc6-generic_4.6.0-040600rc6

[Bug 1576952] [NEW] apport ends with Segmentation fault

2016-04-30 Thread Muriel
Public bug reported:

There are three problems with apport on kubuntu 16.04:

1) Missing dependecies: python-pyqt5

2) Exception running the application:
UnicodeEncodeError: 'ascii' codec can't encode character u'\xe9' in position
21: ordinal not in range(128)

3) Segfault at the end of the program, even if the information is sent
correctly to launchpad.

Regarding 2) can be fixed with:

[Bug 1575651] Re: X stops responding to input on power saving mode

2016-04-27 Thread Muriel
** Description changed:

Once my session has been locked and the screen off, Xserver stops responding
to input ( I can still move the cursor). I can re-activate it by typing in a
tty "xset dpms force on".
If I just lock the screen all works fine.
If I just turn off the monitor (xset dpms force off) all works fine.

The same system (kubuntu 16.04 64bit) on different hardware (nvidia) has
  no problem.

- Symptoms:
- After waking the screen from power saving/screensaver, the primary display
wakes but X stops responding to input (the mouse cursor can still move, but
clicking has no effect). Secondary display does not wake.
- No errors in dmesg
-
- Frequency/conditions:
- Occurs almost every time the screen enters power saving + locked (possibly
DPMS issue?)
-
- VGA: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Kabini [Radeon HD 8400 / R3
- Series] (APU AMD Athlon 5350)

A click on the background of the panel really works, but a click right on the
bar also should change the focus, as it used to be on Nautilus 2.3X.
Why to force the users to an extra useless click on the background?

When working with extra panel a click on location bar of unfocused panel

It is boring, making necessary a click on the panel content before to change

[Bug 731300] Re: Unable to mount ntfs filesystem

2011-03-08 Thread Muriel
After some tests i discovered that the problem is in fuse packages and
not in ntfs-3g

Using
fuse-utils=2.8.4-1ubuntu1 and libfuse2=2.8.4-1ubuntu1
all works fine

I tried to correct the signal but with poor results... sorry.

[Bug 681083] Re: Ubuntu Crashes/Freeze on XenMotion

2011-01-20 Thread Muriel
Hi Luiz,
I have two different pools with two different processors
1) amd
when i migrate A - B and B is the master of the pool the console (and the vm)
freeze;
when i migrate B - A and B is the master all works fine (with the patch);
when i migrate B - C and all are members all works fine (with the patch;)

2) intel
all works fine with the patch

Ian Campbell says it could be a problem on my master: You have had the same
problem with the same processor?

Stefan,
the patch that i proposed is the Ian's patch changed for the ubuntu kernel
2.6.32-27.49. The only differences are in the row on which make the change.

[Bug 81817] Re: window screenshot crashes (using openbox)

2010-10-10 Thread Muriel de Souza Godoi
I got the following message, hope it can be helpful.

Running Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat final release.

mur...@marvin:~$ gnome-screenshot -i
The program 'gnome-screenshot' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'.
  (Details: serial 2387 error_code 3 request_code 15 minor_code 0)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

I still confirm this on Ubuntu 10.10. Proxy issue still is abandoned by several
problems.

I think that proxy setting could be set on network-manager each
connection has its own proxy settings. So you don't need to set it
manually when at work/university or home.

[Bug 537763] Re: Asus Eee PC 1201n: Function Keys

2010-05-12 Thread Muriel de Souza Godoi
Adding acpi=Linux acpi_backlight=vendor parameter makes no changes here.
Backlight Function keys are still working, but without notification.
Fn+F7 (Turn off the backlight) doesn't work in both cases.

[Bug 537763] Re: Asus Eee PC 1201n: Function Keys

2010-04-02 Thread Muriel de Souza Godoi
I can confirm almost the same at my Asus EEEPC 1008HA

Brightness, sleep and WIFI works fine.
But Mute and volume keys doesn't

Mute: Fn + F10
Volume Down: Fn + F11
Volume UP: Fn + F12

They used to work fine on Karmic in the same hardware.

No logs in the dmesg, and no output in showkeys -s

[Bug 442764] [NEW] Empathy does not rise to top when selected in the applet

2009-10-04 Thread Muriel de Souza Godoi
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 439848 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/439848

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: indicator-applet

That is happening:
When Empathy window is under another window and Empathy is selected in the
applet, it does not rise to focus, keeping under the another window.
That occurs booth the Empathy window is normal (and under another window) and
minimized (and there is another window over the area which Empathy was before).

That should be happening:
Empathy window should rise over another windows when directly selected in the
applet.

[Bug 130559] Re: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 03) - no sound

2008-04-28 Thread muriel
I got the exact same issue as Patrick, running Ubuntu 8.04 with
2.6.24-16-generic on an Acer Aspire 2920. I had sound working before
upgrading to 2.6.25-16-generic, I thus agree with Patrick that the
problem might be cause by the missing module in the kernel.

Any suggestions would really be appreciated.
