I confirm that on 18.10 is impossible to copy large files / directories from NAS via Samba Share. Kanehekili, please can you explain how to remove gvfs and replace it with cifs in Ubuntu 12.10? It also affects me. When I try to copy files from QNAP NAS share, samba randomly hangs without any notice. Using a clean install of Ubuntu 12.10 (32 bit).
