VLC is a media player... Kind of like a text editor, Opening files from arbritary locations is well within expected usage... At minimum, Snap should allow users to open arbritary files via the open dialog. Or maybe vlc should not be installed as a confined app.. -- You received this bug

Agree with Cefn and Exquisite Dead Guy. 1. This behaviour breaks the functionality of Keyboard Shortcuts applet, (which is included with Ubuntu) and does so without giving any reason or warning. This makes for an inconsistent experience in Ubuntu. Perhaps a seperate bug report should be made
