Well, after some hours trying to solve the issue, i found the trick !
(it does work for me on a Lenovo with a BCM4312)
Uninstall completely bcmwl-kernel-source ! (seems buggy)
Install instead b43-fwcutter and firmware-b43-lpphy-installer (for
BCM4312), or the others BCM installers according to

Reboot = done ! No more wl continuously spams syslog and my wifi is
@Sam_(and-sam)
Even if i deactivate/remove broadcom-sta-wlan driver in system settings,
additional drivers, and reboot and connects again, it's still the same !
No way ! Still getting thousands and thousands of ERROR
@wl_cfg80211_get_station : Could not get rate (-1) and ERROR
That bug is nearly 2 months old, and still remains Unassigned

That's a absolute no go ! Many people are in the same situation.

Here, i can see that error in my xsession-errors file, for gnome-
settings-daemon, at each boot/reboot. (first error appearing in the
file, mentionned twice)

Very annoying bug ! Seems, and _is_, quite critical ! My screen takes
very long time to refresh and sometimes hangs completely. I have exactly
the same errors in my output of the xsession-errors file as evgen
reported.

gnome does not start after an update
P, that annoying bug has been reported first by dino99 on
20-07-2009. ... More than one year later, still nothing... Can we have a
kind of status or scheduled fix release ? I mean, that bug affects
thousand of people and cripple their xsession-errors file with tons of
warnings... Why it takes
Can we hope to see one day the so-called fix released reaching ALSO
the Lucid LTS... ?? Seems to me more important than a Maverick beta
! :-(

Confirmed here. Same version. Can we put ourselves the missing parameter
remote-cert-tls server somewhere in a *.conf file ?... Seems to me
very important to quickly resolve. I'm subscribing that bug.

Still i get the same problem here running 2.6.28-15 on a Dell Inspiron
1000. It's been lng time and that bug is still not fixed. Please,
please, do something about that. Also my fan is constantly running and i
have been forced to put the noapic thing at boot time.

Just updated to 2.6.28-16 a few minutes ago. Same bug again and again !
Also if i don't mention the noapic nolapic thing, my laptop is

Running hal - 0.5.12~rc1+git20090403-0ubuntu4 here on a Dell Inspiron,
the bug still exists ! hal-system-smbi --st_wlan is constantly eating
30% to 60% of my CPU, though i even do not use Wifi (only ethernet). My
laptop is burning... Please do something about that.

I do hope that Kubuntu 8.04 (LTS) hardy users will be able, at last, to have a
VPN pptp operational !
I mean it's realy a pity to see KDE not handling the most basic networking
functions... For me and my company it was a no go !

Kubuntu 8.04.1 here. Update from the repository proposed doesn't
install... (Could broke some dependencies).
Is this package depending on other dependencies updates, still not
spreaded on the servers ?

of the package resolve the problem, so it can be
assumed the updated package causes the error?
I didn't downgrade. I'm not using Dolphin anymore, and uninstalled it.
Switched for Krusader.
