What I expect to happen: When playing a
I have Ubuntu 18.04 and VLC 3.0.3 and I am affected by this bug.
I also think that no matter what GUI API is called, the system should allow
quitting the app at worst. But not even Ctrl+Alt+Fx functions work to switch to
terminal.

I have a vertical panel with window switcher in 13.10 gnome classic.
This is ok when on single screen on booted with dual screen.
When booted without external screen and then docked, the window switcher
disappear.
See the screenshots.

My observation: I tried to set the shortcut. Didn't work - didn't appear
in the dialog. However, after that, I am able to switch the layout, but
the icon at the top doesn't reflect that. It stays although typing is

After installation of gnome-shell and switching to Gnome Classic, there's no
notification area (tray icon bar).
This is very confusing.
In combination with not-so-user-friendly way to edit panels*, it makes this
quite annoying.
For some apps the tray icon is critical
This bug appeared when I installed Wine, which brought ms-core-fonts.

I am using Gnome classic (Gnome 3).
To move buttons right, I've set
/apps/metacity/general/button_layout to /apps/metacity/general/button_layout
in gconf-editor.
But after upgrading from 12.04 where it worked, now it does not -
buttons are at left.
