gwenview (21.08.1) using Qt 5.15.2

- What I was doing when the application crashed:
I clicked on a PNG file on dolphin
gwenview opened the image
I cropped this image
closed gwenview

clicked on another image on the same dir
gwenview opened the image
clicked on next image button on gwenview ==> this crash

- Unusual behavior I noticed:
now each time I click on an image on dolphin, gwenview crashes

[Bug 1917285] [NEW] paste works only if copying source twice when history count set to 1

2021-02-28 Thread PascalC
Public bug reported:

In order for keepass2 to work more securely, we have to set copy/paste
buffer history count to 1

If I set klipper to have an history count to one (see screen shot), then
the copy/paste behaviour is strange :

1. select something in a window with the mouse
2. do ctrl-c to copy
3. change window
4. try to paste

Nothing happens.

Do the same 1.2.3.4 again : this time the paste works

In fact for each new string to copy, you have to do ctrl-c twice in
order for it to be pastable in another window.

Is this really the correct behaviour when copy/paste history count is
set to 1 ?

[Bug 1915334] Re: Install of 20.10 fails

2021-02-12 Thread PascalC
Cause: your /boot is full or too small

grub-install: Fehler: »/usr/lib/grub/x86_64-efi-
signed/grubx64.efi.signed« kann nicht nach
»/boot/efi/EFI/ubuntu/grubx64.efi« kopiert werden: Auf dem Gerät ist
kein Speicherplatz mehr verfügbar.

$ df -h /boot

better keep it no more than 60% full
to make some space you have to uninstall oldest kernel

List installed kernels
# dpkg -l linux-* | grep ^ii

check your current kernel level
# uname -r

Uninstall kernels keeping current one and maybe one level older too
# apt purge linux-image-VERSION-generic linux-modules-VERSION-generic
linux-modules-extra-VERSION-generic

with VERSION the kernel versions that you are not currently using (dont
remove the one shown by uname -r)

then recheck /boot size

# df -h /boot

then try upgrade

[Bug 1901885] Re: [ASRock H270M-ITX/ac] Line output device unavailable on KDE after reboot

2021-02-12 Thread PascalC
let's do appport-collect again for reference

** Description changed:

This is happening since I upgraded from kubuntu 20.04 to 20.10

Every time I reboot, I cannot find the default "line out" output in the
list of available sound output in kmixer, it has disappeared.

The only workaround is to retrieve it is launching the following script :
  #!/bin/bash
  killall pulseaudio
  pulseaudio -k
  rm -r ~/.config/pulse/*
  rm -r ~/.pulse*
  sleep 15
  pulseaudio --start

** Tags added: uec-images

** Description changed:

This is happening since I upgraded from kubuntu 20.04 to 20.10

Every time I reboot, I cannot find the default "line out" output in the
list of available sound output in kmixer, it has disappeared.

The only workaround is to retrieve it is launching the following script :
  #!/bin/bash
  killall pulseaudio
  pulseaudio -k
  rm -r ~/.config/pulse/*
  rm -r ~/.pulse*
  sleep 15

[Bug 1901885] Re: [ASRock H270M-ITX/ac] Line output device unavailable on KDE after reboot

2021-02-11 Thread PascalC
No problems with 5.8.0-43-generic

The problem is back after upgrading to 5.8.0-44-generic ! (no line out
in KDE)

I have found a temporary workaround : just starting in CLI pacmd then exit
It restores the correct sinks.

I've started the unit with MemoryHigh=512M because MemoryLimit would

[Bug 1907312] Re: clamd takes 7% of ram

2020-12-09 Thread PascalC
Hello.
Well first I valgrinded clamd to see if any memory leak was detected. To my
knowledge it seems not.
Then I googled on this behaviour and found lots of people complaining of ram
footprint of clamd. In fact this behaviour seems linked to the necessity of
loading all virus database in ram for performance purpose.

So there are no workaround except what you suggest.

I'll try to see if MemoryLimit is an accepted parameter for clamd.

[Bug 1901885] Re: line output device unailable on kde after reboot

2020-10-28 Thread PascalC
booting with linux-image-5.4.0-52-generic solves the problem.
The selected output sink is bad but the 'line out' sink is present and can be
selected, as opposed to booting with linux-image-5.8.0-26-generic

the apport-collect will be with linux-image-5.4.0-49-generic, to show
the differences.

[Bug 1901885] Re: line output device unailable on kde after reboot

2020-10-28 Thread PascalC
apport information

** Description changed:

This is happening since I upgraded from kubuntu 20.04 to 20.10

Every time I reboot, I cannot find the default "line out" output in the
list of available sound output in kmixer, it has disappeared.

The only workaround is to retrieve it is launching the following script :
  #!/bin/bash
  killall pulseaudio
  pulseaudio -k
  rm -r ~/.config/pulse/*
  rm -r ~/.pulse*
  sleep 15
  pulseaudio --start
