[Bug 1873295] [NEW] Updated 04-16-2000 and system-monitor shell extension broke

2020-04-16 Thread Pete Graner
Public bug reported:

I updated my 20.04 beta box to on 16 Apr 2020 and the system-monitor
applet stopped working. Going to
https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/120/system-monitor/ shows error.
I removed and tried readding with same result. When adding back the
/var/log/syslog shows:

[Bug 1150109] [NEW] Hong Kong Time zone shows wrong time

2013-03-06 Thread Pete Graner
Public bug reported:

See attached screenshot.

The indicator is showing the Hong Kong time to be 1 hour off,
additionally it should read 22:59 not 11:59 which should really be
23:59. I took a screen shot with the browser open to timeanddate.com
with the current time for Hong Kong. The indicator doesn't show
properly. This is the only timezone I have seen this behavior on. Also I
have the clock set to display in 24 hour time.

[Bug 1103064] Re: power indicator shows that keyboard mouse are missing when they are not

2013-02-07 Thread Pete Graner
I installed upower_0.9.17-1build1_amd64.deb per @pitti's instruction and
run sudo upower --dump and attached the output. There was no visible
change in the icon, still showed a not present in () on the indicator
drop down along with a red empty mouse icon and red empty battery icon
for the keyboard. I even logged out and back into a new session and
still see the same behavior.

[Bug 1103064] Re: power indicator shows that keyboard mouse are missing when they are not

2013-01-23 Thread Pete Graner
Martin,

The machine was running 12.10 until 18 Feb when I ran a do-release-
upgrade -d to bring it up to raring. From that point there were no
updates until yesterday 21 Feb. I upgraded while traveling and upon
returning home I docked the machine and did not get the keyboard mouse
in the power meter. I then upgraded using apt-get dist-upgrade. I then
rebooted and saw the screenshots that are attached.

In running the upower --dump you requested, the 3.5 kernel exhibited the
problem. I'm not sure if its the kernel or not given it happening with
that old of a kernel with the new userspace.

[Bug 1103064] Re: power indicator shows that keyboard mouse are missing when they are not

2013-01-23 Thread Pete Graner
apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected

** Description changed:

I updated by raring installation and found that the power indicator now
shows my wireless keyboard and mouse as (missing) and with extremely low
power. Both the keyboard and mouse work (I'm using them to type this
bug) and the low battery light on the respective devices do not show low
power. Even switching to brand new batteries don't make the indicator
  change state.

I've attached a screenshot of the indicator and a screen shot of the
power setting dialog which seems to be in conflict with the indicator.

I've reproduced this behavior with the 3.8.0-0-generic
  vmlinuz-3.8.0-1-generic kernels.

[Bug 1010009] Re: omapdss only works on some monitors in quantal

2012-06-27 Thread Pete Graner
Workaround in #4 doesn't work for me on 4 different monitors of
different makes and models, this occurs on both a Panda ES and Panda A1
board with the same monitors.

Monitor Make and models:

Hannspree HF257 via HDMI HDMI-DVI cable
ASUS VW224T via HDMI-DVI cable
ViewSonic VX2450 via HDMI-DVI cable
Vizio E47DVL HDTV via HDMI

I have verified all of these combos work on both the ES A1 with
Precise.

[Bug 1005832] [NEW] Intel wifi frequent disconnects

2012-05-29 Thread Pete Graner
Public bug reported:

Several people at Linaro Connect with Thinkpads and Intel wifi and
experiencing, frequent disconnects and have to kill wpa_supplicant in
order to reconnect.

this seems to be related to having multiple ssid with the same name in
close proximity see this reference:

https://mail.gnome.org/archives/networkmanager-
list/2012-February/msg00135.html

I've had this happen on my x220 with both the precise and the Q
kernel. I've upgraded my box to Q

Here is a snippet of the log file when it happens:

May 29 10:43:18 zorak wpa_supplicant[1155]: wlan0: CTRL-EVENT-DISCONNECTED bssid

[Bug 986203] [NEW] oem-config prompts for tasksel configuration multiple times during the install

2012-04-20 Thread Pete Graner
Public bug reported:

Installing the /20120419.2/precise-preinstalled-server-

each tasksel item I selected, in this case, LAMP, Mailserver.

The progress bar increases after each round.

I was prompted for the mysql-server password 3 times and the postfix
which type of installation 3 times.

Everything did install properly:
