Adding "options snd-hda-intel dmic_detect=0" to the end of /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf fixes the sound issue, but added some internal errors that appear to have been resolved by a simple apt update && apt upgrade. For what it's worth, my audio devices all still appear as "dummy output" on my Dell G3 15 3590 running 5.3.0-46-generic. Sound works perfectly on 5.3.0-40 and before. I have not applied any workarounds to the system.
