[Bug 1901231] Re: package linux-image-5.8.0-25-generic 5.8.0-25.26 failed to install/upgrade: triggers looping, abandoned

2020-10-23 Thread Peter Buck
Recovered by booting into an older kernel and running

sudo update-initramfs -u -k 5.8.0-25-generic
sudo update-grub

There are still some initialization failures reported at boot but at
least the 20.10 boot is successful.

[Bug 1849942] Re: 19.10 Gnome Settings and Tweak Tools Window Bar Bug

2020-05-07 Thread Peter Buck
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1846443 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1846443

Simply moving the left margin of gnome-tweaks to the left exposes the
category list, making it seem more likely that the window has not been
given a size.

Yes, missing in 18.10 and adding the ppa:openscad/releases repository
doesn't work for me.

Re: [Bug 1782857] Re: no burn button in file manager in 18.04

2018-07-21 Thread Peter Buck
I couldn't find any way to burn using nautilus. Installed brasero to do
the job. I hope I'm just overlooking the obvious.

Public bug reported:

on page https://help.ubuntu.com/stable/ubuntu-help/files-disc-
write.html, the instruction is to click on the burn button to burn the
cd. That's what I've done in previous versions. In my 18.04 file
