If the QtCreator adjustment isn't made in a reasonable time frame I
don't think it's wise to just leave QtCreator debugging broken . I
haven't tried it out but it's supposed to hurt the Ubuntu SDK too.

Well , I tried the second one , and as you show it the error is

Built it myself - there are tutorials online . You need the dependencies
(I was missing some stuff the first time I built it - ncurses lib ,
python-dev) , but otherwise it's pretty straight forward . Then point
QtCreator to the newly installed gdb executable (I think 'make install'

It is still GDB-python related (Ubuntus GDB had problems with 'gdb

on the Qt-dev mailing list when discussing the problem) ).

On the default install GDB is built without the python-dev , or has
some other issue disenabling python . I'm not going to pretend I
understand the full problem , but Qt Creator did not have proper
debugging - after some digging around and asking I found out that GDB
did not
I agree that most times GNOME/Unity devs cut too much of the settings
out , but in this case I don't think this is something important enough
that it should go into the settings (it's out of the question for

If the new feature is still buggy or cannot pass the feature freeze , I

I suggest the option in CCSM-Scale addons-close_button - just set
