This problem still exists in the latest daily release of Gwibber 2.33.0, under Ubuntu 10.10. None of the workarounds posted here work, I've tried them all in various combinations multiple times. -- Can not add Facebook account as add button not displayed after authorisation.

Finally got it to work, just kept trying and it eventually worked. I understand the bug may be due to Facebook throttling Gwibber or sending invalid data, but Gwibber should handle this more gracefully - informing the user of the issue and telling them to keep trying, or to leave it some time and

I have just found a 'fix' for this problem. In the case of Twitter, logging out and logging back in cured it, in the case of the image removing all cookies from Wikipedia prevented the crash. Still at a complete loss as to why it was crashing in the first place, an issue with corrupt cookies
