[Bug 134285] Re: (046d:0850) QuickCam Web doesn't work in Feisty and Gutsy

2008-02-07 Thread PhotoGopher
An update from my last post.
I uninstalled Camorama Web Cam Viewer and then reinstalled it. Now the
Logictech cam works fine. I can also see it when running Kopete.
So, I'm back to where I was last night. Now lets see if it continues to work.

[Bug 134285] Re: (046d:0850) QuickCam Web doesn't work in Feisty and Gutsy

2008-02-07 Thread PhotoGopher
I just completed a new install of Gutsy, 2.6.22-14 yesterday and all was
working fine, including my Logitech web cam. I shut down the system and then
booted it back up today and nothing but problems. Desktop locks, programs
don't run or run slow and my web cam is always on (green LED) and is not
recognized.
Reboot and remounting the cam does nothing.
Now I'm lost and I'm not really sure where the problem resides as nothing seems
to be stable.

[Bug 115592] Re: Broken custom packages block apt since they cannot be reinstalled

2007-09-17 Thread PhotoGopher
I have tried everything that Jim as done and still have the problem.
Jim said, I deleted the entry and all information about the package from the
file. I tried to delete my virtualbox in the status file but it seems I don't
have the authority level to do this. Is there something I can do to gain this
authority?

[Bug 108397] Re: E:The package virtualbox needs to be reinstalled, but I can't find an archive for it.

2007-09-16 Thread PhotoGopher
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 115592 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/115592

I reviewed and tried all of the suggestions from Ted's link. None of these
worked for me. I'm stuck on this one.
My system worked fine until I decided to try Virtual Box. I'm very sorry that
I did. Reading VB's technical forum, it sounds like there are many many issues
with that software.
If anyone has any new ideas on this or if I have to start from scratch, please
let me know.
Thanks
Dave
