Workaround does not work in my case (upgrade from 18.10 to 19.04:): sudo
apt purge ttf-mscorefonts-installer && sudo apt install --reinstall ttf-
mscorefonts-installer

Seeing the same problem with 16.04 from 15.10: no main menu for some
applications.
Thunderbird and Firefox are not affected.
Happens with:
LibreOffice 5.1.2.2
Document viewer 3.18.2
Gimp 2.8.16
Menus reappear after logout-login.
Ask for any log if needed.

There is no gwibber.log in .config/gwibber. Only gwibber.sqlite
no gwibber folder in /etc where I expected to find it?
However, I modify the parameters in gwibber preferences, asking to Show
notification for all messages and all of a sudden, Gwibber update my
facebook messages.

Terminal find /.cache/gwibber/gwibber.log but not unity. Search with
unity on gwibber.log find it into /proc/20855/cwd

Attached is the terminal output when running gwibber-service -d -o
Note that the terminal got stuck two times during the run and restart
after I hit ctrl+c. I indicated the position in the file inserting %get
