[Bug 1947836] [NEW] nvidia-340 cannot be installed on F-Intel-5.13

2021-10-20 Thread Po-Hsu Lin
Public bug reported:

Issue found on 5.13.0-1007-intel with ADT testing.

It looks like this package installation will fail with kernel version parsing:
Setting up gir1.2-geoclue-2.0:amd64 (2.5.6-0ubuntu1) ...
Setting up xserver-xorg-video-vesa (1:2.4.0-2) ...
Setting up nvidia-340 (340.108-0ubuntu5.20.04.2) ...
dpkg: error: version '-' has bad syntax: revision number is empty
dpkg: error: version '-' has bad syntax: revision number is empty
update-initramfs: deferring update (trigger activated)
Adding system user `nvidia-persistenced' (UID 121) ...

nvidia-390 and newer drivers can be installed without any problem.

Not sure if we ever care about this old driver on this kernel for IoT
devices, filed a bug here in case we forgot about this.

[Bug 1945820] Re: ubuntu_ltp: CVE-2018-1000204 failed for cve

2021-10-12 Thread Po-Hsu Lin
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1899413 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1899413

Hello Tim,
thanks for the bug report.
This test is failing on big memory systems because of OoM killer during memory
pollution (bug 1899413)

By updating our LTP fork to include krzk's commit:
lib: memutils: don't pollute entire system memory to avoid OoM

This issue can be fixed.

Retested on F-oracle-5.4 VM.DenseIO2.8 and passed.
I will close this as a dup.
Thanks!

[Bug 1836694] Re: memcg_test_3 from controllers in LTP timeout with Bionic/Focal/Hirsute

2021-10-08 Thread Po-Hsu Lin
Note that this fix in comment in #20 is only targeting on VM instance.

I can see ARM64 bare-metal node appleton-kernel is still failing.

With a manual test by using 1h timeout for this test, it still timeout
on appleton-kernel with Focal 5.11.0-38-generic-64k. (This test was not
executed with the generic ARM64 kernel on this node)

This will needs to be investigated.

Hi Krzysztof,
Thanks for reporting this.
I have these failing instances (Standard_B1ms, Standard_D48_v3) in your comment
#21 retested with updated code. The Standard_B1ms will pass without any error.
But Standard_D48_v3 will fail with bug 1946201 instead.

With a manual test this seems to be using the correct key server:
hkp://keyserver.ubuntu.com:80

But I can't figure out why this is just failing on these 4 instances;
a1.medium, c6g.8xlarge, i3en.24xlarge, t2.small but pass with others in
the AWS cloud for the moment. Might need to ask our lxc expert for this.

[Bug 1946128] Re: ubuntu_lxc: Fails multiple tests

2021-10-06 Thread Po-Hsu Lin
Hello Tim,
thanks for the report, these are actually failing with something like:
Downloading the image index
ERROR: Invalid signature for /tmp/tmp.u1JHG6CYmL/index.asc

And the api_test.py is failing with this issue as well.

I will modify the bug title / description for this.

** Summary changed:

- ubuntu_lxc: Fails multiple tests
+ ubuntu_lxc: api_test.py / lxc-test-apparmor-mount / lxc-test-autostart /
lxc-test-no-new-privs / lxc-test-unpriv failing with "ERROR: Invalid signature"

[Bug 1836694] Re: memcg_test_3 from controllers in LTP failed with Bionic/Focal/Hirsute

2021-10-05 Thread Po-Hsu Lin
More test results, it will take about:

* 50 minutes to run on F-gcp-5.11 g1.small
* 38 minutes to run on B-gcp-4.15 g1.small
* 40 minutes to run on H-gcp-5.11 g1.small
* 36 minutes to run on X-gcp-4.15 g1.small

Also, it will take about 7m30s on I-azure-5.13 Standard_B1ms

So I think a 60 min timeout (LTP_TIMEOUT_MUL=12) should be OK.

[Bug 1831449] Re: memory in ubuntu_kvm_unit_tests fails (clflushopt / clwb ABSENT)

2021-10-04 Thread Po-Hsu Lin
When comparing the Focal 5.4 generic AMD64 kernel test output and Focal
5.4 KVM AMD64 kernel test output, you can see the generic kernel will
pass with:

 PASS: clflush (present)
 PASS: sfence (present)
 PASS: lfence (present)
 PASS: mfence (present)
 PASS: clflushopt (ABSENT)
 PASS: clwb (ABSENT)
 PASS: invalid clwb
 PASS: pcommit (ABSENT)
 SUMMARY: 8 tests
 PASS memory (8 tests)

Instead the KVM kernel will fail with:
 FAIL: clflushopt (ABSENT)
 FAIL: clwb (ABSENT)

I wonder what's the difference here.

[Bug 1945199] Re: ubuntu_lxc: lxc-test-unpriv failed

2021-09-28 Thread Po-Hsu Lin
This failure seems to be caused by the hanging lxc-test-apparmor-mount
test, which got killed by the 900 seconds timeout setting on these 3
instances (c3.xlarge, t3.medium, t3a.2xlarge)

Normally this test will take about 30 seconds to run. But somehow it
hangs in this case.

I have the test restarted on these 3 failing instance and they're all
green now.

I can reproduce this issue on 5.13.0-1010 by running this test case.

To run this test you will need to build LTP for it.

sudo apt install -y automake bison build-essential byacc flex git keyutils
libacl1-dev libaio-dev libcap-dev libmm-dev libnuma-dev libsctp-dev
libselinux1-dev libssl-dev libtirpc-dev pkg-config quota virt-what xfslibs-dev
xfsprogs gcc

cd ltp
make autotools
./configure
make install
echo "can_bcm01 can_bcm01" > /tmp/target

I just retest this manually on node entei with the steps in comment #3,
and this issue can be reproduced (system gets reboot) with a different
message from the ipmi console.
