I have the same issue with "ubuntu-18.04-beta2-desktop-amd64.iso". BUT I
could find a workaround which seems working currently ... at least I can
log in :-)

I had the same issue with Ubuntu 18.40 (final Beta) and HP EliteBook 850
G5 and reported the bug 1762814 and the solution (or rather workaround)
for me was to blacklist amdgpu and this gnome shell crash, all the boot
errors and suspend issues were gone.

+VGA-Port & partially Docking-Station+Display-Port (partially because of
rendering issues on DP-Port)) working in Ubuntu 14.04 (see

docked into the "HP 2013 UltraSlim-Dockingstation" and at some point during the
upgrade my screen went black and so I decided to reboot. And from this point on

Sorry but my workaround was incomplete - i.e. to clean up the login screen (and
clean up the cached passwords) I use the following commands:
sudo rm /var/lib/sss/db/*
sudo rm /var/lib/sss/mc/*
sudo rm -rf /var/lib/lightdm/.cache
sudo rm -rf /var/cache/lightdm
sudo rm -rf /var/log/wtmp
And reboot
I have found a workaround - by deleting the sss cache files the remote user
profiles disappear from the lightdm login screen:
log-in as LOCAL administrator (sudo user) (i.e. basically the account that was
created during installation)
delete SSS cache files:

I have the same issue.
My configuration:
- Ubuntu 14.04, with all updates (Ubuntu 3.13.0-37.64-generic 3.13.11.7)
- EliteBook 840 G1 connected to a HP ultraslim docking station 2013.
- 1 Acer B273HU connected to the DP of the docking
FGLRX: linux-amd-catalyst-14.6-beta-v1.0-jul11.zip: fglrx-14.20
In addition to the internal DP the VGA Port of Docking Station works as well
fine (so finally only the 2 DPs of the Docking Station don't work).
Connecting my monitor the the VGA Port of the Docking Station is for me an
acceptable work-around until AMD (or HP) have fixed this issue.

Is there already a sustainable fix for this issue?
I have the same problem on my HP EliteBook 840 G1.
I'm running ubuntu-14.04.1-desktop-amd64.
Every time when I open the System Settings my computer respective my mouse
freezes for 1-2 seconds.
And when I try to play a video with totem player then
-style is again set back to the default.
There should be a way to link the button toolbar Bullets On/Off
(Shift+F12) to a Style and Formatting (F11) List-Style for the whole
document respective document template.
