[Bug 1482844] Re: Caffeine can't connect to display since updating Trusty to Vivid kernel and X (HWE)

2015-08-26 Thread Raumkraut
FTR, the latest version (0.14+20091101-5) in the Debian Unstable repos appears
to have fixed my aforementioned issue.
Thanks, Andrew.

[Bug 53897] Re: Disappearing panels/menus in Xubuntu

2010-12-04 Thread Raumkraut
Just confirming my experience of what ZN wrote in post #42.
Yesterday I set my task-list to always group, and this morning the panels
wouldn't load (floating point exception).
Seeing ZN's post, I then edited my ~/.config/xfce4/panel/tasklist-2.rc file to
set grouping=1, and now running xfce4-panel works without error.

[Bug 573516] Re: Xfce Crashes When Choosing Theme Wildbush

2010-07-16 Thread Raumkraut
Had the same thing happen while prettifying up my fresh install of Xubuntu
10.04.
Notable differences:
1. I'm using i686, not x86_64
2. I'm using an nVidia card with the Nouveau driver, no ATI anything.

[Bug 203885] Re: Can't see remote video

2010-06-10 Thread Raumkraut
I just upgraded my Ekiga to 3.2.6, from the mentioned PPA for Jaunty, but I
still experience this same problem:
When calling the 5...@ekiga.net echo service, all video options but local are
greyed out. The only time I've seen another's video is when calling over our
LAN.

I've attached the logfile from a short test-call.

[Bug 362260] Re: Segmenation Fault when showing Texture Actor

2010-03-18 Thread Raumkraut
FWIW, I can get the examples to work (with the exception of test-
easing.py, which still segfaults) under Jaunty (9.04) by installing the
libclutter-1.0-0, python-support and python-clutter packages from
the Karmic repos: http://ns2.canonical.com/karmic/python-clutter

The packages do also exist for Jaunty in one user's PPA
(https://launchpad.net/~kalon33/+archive/ppa), but only as part of a
larger collection of assorted packages.

[Bug 368966] Re: address bar completion gone after screensaver

2009-08-17 Thread Raumkraut
Okay, here's what I just did:
- Ran Firefox by your command (selected plain profile; opened to default Ubuntu
page)
- Typed 'goo' into the address bar, and observed that the pop-up appeared (then
escaped a couple of times to get rid of it)
- Locked computer through Ctrl+Alt+L
- Unlocked computer a few minutes later
- Typed goo in the address bar; observed lack of pop-up
- Quit Firefox

[Bug 368966] Re: address bar completion gone after screensaver

2009-08-13 Thread Raumkraut
I also encounter this, using Firefox 3.0.13 under Jaunty.
After unlocking the screensaver, the auto-complete doesn't pop-up unless I
alt-tab away from Firefox, and then back again.

However, I can't get it to exhibit the behaviour when unlocking
immediately after I lock (using Ctrl+Alt+L). It may be a timing issue,
as usually I've been away from the computer for at least a few minutes
when I do experience the problem.

FTR the addons I use are: Adblock, NoScript, RESTClient, Tree Style Tab and the
Ubuntu FF Mods.
If I remember, I'll try leaving FF open using a blank profile next time.

[Bug 365529] Re: python-dateutil 1.4.1-2 rrule.py miss __str__() method

2009-06-08 Thread Raumkraut
I can find no indication of a __str__ method being defined for any of
dateutil's classes. A recursive grep comes up blank for both the linked-to
archive and the Ubuntu package. The relevant archive available from pypi also
shows no sign of such code.
Additionally, the documentation makes no mention of converting *to* RFC 2445
rrules, only *from* them.

[Bug 108951] Re: Gnome drawer applet delays and unresponsiveness

2009-04-24 Thread Raumkraut
I get the same experience with Jaunty (9.04).
However, there even seems to be a delay/pause in opening the drawer after
Compiz is turned off. The delay without compiz is much reduced though - less
than a second, I'd guess.

[Bug 109051] Re: Amarok UI bogged down when playing mms internet radio stream

2008-07-31 Thread Raumkraut
Whereas all the streams previously mentioned in this report do seem to work
fine for me, these ones do lag my Amarok UI:
http://radio.hiof.no/nrk-alltid-nyheter-128.ogg
http://radio.hiof.no/nrk-alltid-klassisk-128.ogg
http://radio.hiof.no/nrk-p2-128.ogg
Whereas these are fine:
http://radio.hiof.no/nrk-p1-128.ogg
http://radio.hiof.no/nrk-sport-128.ogg
http://radio.hiof.no/nrk-jazz-128.ogg

The various ogg streams from
http://media.hiof.no/scripts/stream_details.php seem to be rather hit
and miss on the whole. All of the mp3 streams I tried from that page
have worked fine however.

I'm on a fully updated Hardy, with the Medibuntu repositories added if
that makes a difference.

[Bug 232487] [NEW] Running with no args disables cruise control/smart scroll

2008-05-21 Thread Raumkraut
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: logitech-applet

By default, the logitech_applet executable appears to disable cruise
control when run, rather than leaving it be. The output of the initial
run indicates that cc/ss is Enabled, but trying to use the feature
indicates this is no longer the case. Subsequent logitech_applet
executions confirm that the first 'check' has quietly disabled the
feature.

eg:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ logitech_applet
001/008 046D/C01D M-BS81A MX510 Optical Mouse
   Resolution: 800cpi
Cruise Control / Smart Scroll: Enabled
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ logitech_applet
001/008 046D/C01D M-BS81A MX510 Optical Mouse
   Resolution: 800cpi
Cruise Control / Smart Scroll: Disabled
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$

Running with -c/--get-cc shows the same output and behaviour.

Info:

[Bug 94597] Re: Settings for Logitech Optical Trackman unavailable

2008-05-20 Thread Raumkraut
The issue seems to stem from changes made, way back when, to how udev parses
it's .rules files. The effect of this is that the /etc/udev/logitechmouse.rules
file supplied with Ubuntu (including Hardy) is basically ignored by udev.
Attached is my modification to said file (as supplied by Hardy), which sets the
group for the relevant node within /dev/bus/usb/ to plugdev. Replacing the
ubuntu-supplied file, doing `sudo udevcontrol reload_rules`, and re-plugging
your mouse should activate it.

With this all in place I can now use logitech_applet (it's in the repos) to
view and set the resolution, etc as a normal user.
*However* there still seems to be a bug in the admin interface, as changing the
resolution of the mouse works only once. After applying a new resolution, the
same error message as originally encountered appears and any further attempts
to apply changes seem to have no effect. Closing and reopening the settings
window resets the behaviour, allowing another - single - alteration.

[Bug 94597] Re: Settings for Logitech Optical Trackman unavailable

2008-05-20 Thread Raumkraut
Additionally, whatever changes you make in the mouse settings interface don't
seem to survive a reboot (I've just checked).
Instead, you need to tell udev to set the resolution, etc, every time a
logitech device is detected. What I have done is install logitech_applet (as
mentioned before), and use something like the following in the
logitechmouse.rules file (this one is the line for the MX510):

SYSFS{idProduct}==c01d, SYSFS{idVendor}==046d, MODE=660,
GROUP=plugdev, RUN+=/usr/bin/logitech_applet -e -s 800

`logitech_applet -h` to list available options.
