[Bug 669902] Re: USB drives do not automount after desktop loaded

2011-01-12 Thread Rhys Evans
Thanks for the follow-up, I no longer have that PC to test. Maybe Patrik
and John are still following this issue?

I get this on an Eee PC 901 with a standard 10.10 install from the
alternate CD.

[Bug 669902] [NEW] USB drives do not automount after desktop loaded

2010-11-02 Thread Rhys Evans
Public bug reported:

When inserting USB flash and hard disc drives in Ubuntu 10.10 on an IBM
ThinkCentre M/T 8172 the drives do not automount. Due to previous
reports of a similar nature I have tried disabling the floppy drive in
BIOS, physically disconnecting the floppy drive, running sudo modprobe
-r floppy, blacklisting the module and commenting the floppy entry from
fstab. I have found the drive will mount after; running lsusb, leaving
the drive in at boot, or suspending and resuming the PC. Prior to that
the device is not visible in fdisk -l and does not appear to be fully
powered, just a blip on the indicator light upon insertion. Attached are
files suggested at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/DebuggingUSBStorage

[Bug 669902] Re: USB drives do not automount after desktop loaded

2010-11-02 Thread Rhys Evans
Also seems the same as
http://www.allquests.com/question/3200054/%5Bubuntu%5D-Urgent-Lost-USB-
stick-auto-mount.html except in that case automount wasn't working when
using an external USB hub. I'm only using the built in USB ports.
Trawling through
http://www.google.co.nz/search?ie=UTF-8q=lsusb+automount+OR+auto+mount;
at the moment to see if there's any other proposed fixes.
