RE: [Bug 1895870] Re: The only issue this bg causes is a slow down on the PC while it trys to repair the graphics issue.
The PC keeps asking to first do a Ubuntu 18 upgrade, which is not possible. Then trys to do a fix for the previous video bug. I have reverted it back a few updates and it is running better, but will eventually request to do an update again. I believe Ubuntu 16 is still supported if not I will block all future updates. Please let me know, and again thank you for your support. [Bug 1847834] Re: Eaon Ermine Live Server can not create mirrored root
This was being tested on a HP DL380g8, which does not have UEFI, only BIOS. There was no way that I could figure out to actually raid the root using the Live Installer. It was trivial and worked as expected using the normal Server installer. I realise that UEFI actually makes it harder to mirror root, as it (used to?) require manual hacking to get both devices into the UEFI boot order. This can be trivially verified on virtual hardware, simply create a VM with two hard drives, and try to get both of them active so the VM will boot with one of them missing. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1847834 Title: Eaon Ermine Live Server can not create mirrored root To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/subiquity/+bug/1847834/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1847835] Re: Firmware missing on Eaon Ermine live install media
The other issue I found - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/curtin/+bug/1847834 - means that the server 'Live' media is not usable anyway, as you can not create a mirrored root with it. [Bug 1847834] [NEW] Eaon Ermine Live Server can not create mirrored root
Public bug reported: The historical way of installing with hardware redundancy is to create a mirrored root volume, using mdraid. This is no longer possible. There are several issues: 1. Randomly the 'Done' button will not go white, even if the configuration is correct 2. There is a 'magic' gpt partition created on the first drive you select, which is required for grub 3. If you remove that, to try to make grub install the old way, curtis crashes with an error from grub-install saying that it can only install using blocklist 4. No partition is set active This makes it impossible to actually install 19.10 in a redundant manner, that can survive a hard drive failure. ** Affects: curtin (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: install -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1847834 Title: Eaon Ermine Live Server can not create mirrored root To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/curtin/+bug/1847834/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

A method to repair machines was posted earlier, but may have been missed in the noise.
