[Bug 1332204] [NEW] Incorrect domain listed in splash screen
Public bug reported: When chosing the About Fontmatrix screen it points to a no longer active domain. Says: fontmatrix.net Should be: fontmatix.be FWIW this package isn't actively in development right now according to their website, so perhaps the .net was an active domain at one time. [Bug 831305] Re: [Upstream] Numbering mis-indents in LibreOffice Writer
Using LibreOffice Version 4.0.4.2 and the problem is still present. I realize this is a simple fix (i.e.: workaround) but why not simply change the Numbering Followed By setting from Tab-Stop to Nothing as the default? While I don't have mplayer installed my file worked OK with Amarok, Rhythmbox, Xine, Totem and VLC. After trying those apps out I then did a complete uninstall of the current version of Audacity on my computer. Then powered down. After a few minutes I came back and did a complete reinstall of the application, including the one in the archives that says audacity-dbg. Same distortion problems. This is maddening!! [Bug 179510] Re: Cannot play DVD through xine-backed players in Hardy
Changed device used for DVD playback and raw device setup for DVD access from /dev/scd0 to /dev/dvd (media tab) Also changed directory a media in DVD drive will be mounted (gui tab). I honestly don't remember seeing this setting last year so perhaps its something added since then? After making changes closed xine and restarted it. Clicked on DVD button on xine-gui and DVD plays. Perhaps its wasn't intentional but you used the word upgrade in your previous comment. I don't upgrade my system. I have separate partitions on my system so when I move up/down to a new version of Ubuntu I also reformat all my partitions, but /home, /home/photos and /home/parallels and do a fresh install, so I'm not going from version X to version Y. When I referred to updating I was talking about applying all the daily patches to programs issued during the alpha stages. As I read my original bug report it looks like the DVD drive in the system used to be labeled /dev/cdrom0. I'm wondering if they referred to the CD/DVD device in Gutsy as /dev/cdrom0, but then in Hardy Alpha1 moved on to calling it /dev/dvd, and xine didn't detect that, or there wasn't a symlink added at that point on the Alpha, which caused the problem at that point. Hi Reinhard, Quick note. The link you gave us in launchpad is busted. Its coming up Page Not Found. But to answer your question, I'm not sure we are talking the same bug. In my circumstance it was an all or nothing proposition. NO DVDs played until I changed the settings in xine to /dev/scd0. Since reporting that bug I've moved on to Intrepid Ibex, and my setting is /dev/scd0. I honestly, can't remember if I made the change manually, or whether it detected it out the door as this was a fresh install a few months ago. I would suggest Oscar make sure that HIS dvd is actually /dev/scd0 and not some other device. If it were the latter it certainly would keep giving him that error. Seems like xine is not detecting the actual device, and only adding a generic location. -- [totem-xine] DVD will not play https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/103173 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 179510] Re: Cannot play DVD through xine-backed players in Hardy
Workaround: In xine, change the device used for DVD playback and raw device setup for DVD access from /dev/dvd to /dev/scd0. This allowed DVD playback and eliminated the error msg I was receiving through xine. [Bug 163560] Re: audigy2 platinum - livedrive - gutsyhardy - frontpanel microphone line 2 is missing
I can happily report I have front panel access using Intrepid Ibex Alpha 2!! Headphones work, though they don't mute main speakers when a headphone is plugged in. Microphone works as Line LiveDrive (not microphone) Auxiliary inputs on LiveDrive are labeled Line2 LiveDrive There is IEC958 controllers, which are presumably for the SPDIF connectors, but I have no devices to test connectivity with. [Bug 252227] [NEW] Cannot select input devices in Audacity's Mixer Toolbar
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: audacity When using the Mixer Toolbar in Audacity 1.3.5-2 (beta) you should have three items: Output Volume, Input Volume and Input Selector is missing. There was a bug reported previously (101131) in Kubuntu 7.04 that was the exact same problem. It was apparently fixed when Ubuntu went to v1.3.2. However, the problem is appearing with Intrepid Ibex Alpha 2 and the Audacity build included. One of the suggestions on the Audacity wiki is to make sure you don't have too many inputs specified in the Audio I/O preferences. No matter whether mine is set to 1 or 9, the input selector does not appear. Using a Soundblaster 5.1 w/LiveDrive and Alsa. CURRENT WORKAROUND: Bring up Alsa-Mixer and turn on and off the input channels I want, or don't want. Set Audio I/O preference to a large number of channels, say 9 (the specs indicate my device will allow 16!!) and it will record input from all the devices hooked up. In the for what its worth catagory my build of Audacity on a Powerbook G4, using OSX is version 1.35-d and the selector is there just fine. (Is v1.35-d the equivilent of what would be 1.3.5-4 in the Linux World??? Re: [Bug 103173] Re: [totem-xine] DVD will not play
I'm on Hardy now and seem to still have problems with the xine-based players, but haven't been able to sucessfully run the DVD as I had before either. I'll try and do it this weekend. Robert -- Rob Mitchell wrote: It hasn't been an issue for some time, and I thought I had reported this to the bug tracking site - sorry if I didn't get it input to the right place on launchpad. As I recall the issue manifested with Feisty. I had loaded the non-free codecs from Medibuntu but still could not view DVDs. The first recommendation was to load totem-xine instead of the gstreamer-based, which I did, but still to no avail. I had to load libdvdnav and one other library I can't remember right at the moment (I'm at work, not in front of my Linux box - sorry again!) Nonetheless once I got the proper libraries loaded I had full functionality including menu navigation. After doing a distro upgrade to Gutsy, DVDs continued to play normally. I don't have a box loaded with Hardy yet, but have a spare notebook I can load the latest alpha on. Right now I'm rather busy, but will be happy to do a clean install of Hardy and report on my results. Would that be helpful? I'm happy to do so if it will help the community. Kindest regards, Rob Mitchell Memphis, TN -- Original message -- From: Basilio Kublik [EMAIL PROTECTED] Hi there Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. [Bug 179510] Cannot play DVD through xine-backed players in Hardy
Public bug reported: Cannot seem to run any DVD when using a xine-backed player in Hardy Heron. Originally installed Alpha1, however, have installed all updates as they have been released. Was able to run under Gutsy Gibbon final version just fine. Steps to reproduce: 1 - Insert DVD in drive 2 - Choose Applications/Accessories/Terminal 3 - Run xine 4 - Hit g and xine control panel launches 5 - Click on DVD option Receive errors: -xine engine error- There is no input plugin available to handle 'dvd:/. Maybe MRL syntax is wrong or file/stream source doesn't exist. When clicking on More button I get additional error messages: The source can't be read. Maybe you don't have enough rights for this, or source doesn't contain data (e.g: no disk in drive). (/dev/cdrom0) Additonally, a window pops up with three tabs (messages, plugin and trace) Trace has nothing exciting, just two line referring to 2D_Tex and nothing that looks like an error. Plugin refers to a whole bunch of plugins being found, but no references to plugs not found The messages screen has seven entries. The third one says: xine: cannot find input plugin for MRL [DVD:/] followed by: xine: input plugin cannot open MRL [DVD:/] What's interesting is that if I use Nautilus to explore the DVD, and go to the video folder I can right click on any of the video files and view them through xine just fine. xine related packages already installed: libdvdcss2 v1.2.9-2medibuntu4 libdvdread3 v0.9.7-3ubuntu1 libxine1 v1.1.8-3ubuntu2 libxine1-all-plugins v1.1.8-3ubuntu2 libxine1-bin v1.1.8-3ubuntu2 libxine1-console v1.1.8-3ubuntu2 libxine1-ffmpeg v1.1.8-3ubuntu2 libxine1-gnome v1.1.8-3ubuntu2 libxine1-misc-plugins v1.1.8-3ubuntu2 libxine1-plugins v1.1.8-3ubuntu2 libxine1-x v1.1.8-3ubuntu2 libxine1-dev v1.1.8-3ubuntu2 xine-console v0.9.9.5+cvs20070914-2 xine-plugin v1.01~cvs20070523-1ubuntu1 xine-ui v.99.5+cvs-20070914-2 I have a lone CD/DVD writer in the system.
