[Bug 550924] Re: Window buttons not visible when panel is not expanded.

2010-03-29 Thread Roberto Sarrionandia
Hi, thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

Please could you clarify, perhaps with a screenshot, which button for
the calculator window is invisible?

I attempted the following:
1) Set panels to autohide
2) Open Firefox
3) Open gnome calculator

The calculator window displayed and rendered fine, and the application
was visible in the bottom panel (list of open windows)

This bug can't be fixed until

Is fixed. But there are some other bugs in it like
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=444645 which imply that the

For this reason, it is out of my league. Hopefully the upstream

[Bug 231741] Re: Picasa provider password field does not mask password characters

2008-05-18 Thread Roberto Sarrionandia
OK, this problem was present in quite a few of the modules. The text was
set to visible so the invisible ● character wasn't being displayed.

This patch corrects all of the instances where this happens in a
password field.

On the gmail module, the password field had * as an invisble character.
This patch also changes it to the proper ● character.

** Attachment added: Fix password fields and use ● as gmails invisible
character
   http://launchpadlibrarian.net/14591676/conduit.patch

** Summary changed:

- Picasa provider password field does not mask password characters
+ Conduit password fields not masked

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: conduit

- The Picasa provider has a Password field, but it shows characters in
- plain text rather than with '*' or other masking. Anyone looking at my
- screen could gain access to my picasa/gmail account.
+ Many of the conduit modules show the password as it is being entered,
+ because the gtk entry widget has its text set to visible.

[Bug 225952] [NEW] Human keyboard icon scales badly

The Keyboard icon scales badly. To reproduce this, drag the keyboard
icon onto the desktop, and stretch it. The cord of the keyboard doesn't
actually touch it, which looks strange.

[Bug 185512] Pidgin adds MSN strangely

2008-01-23 Thread Roberto Sarrionandia
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pidgin

On Hardy beta 3, x86.

After entering my details in the add MSN account dialogue on Pidgin,
including my password with the save password checkbox enabled.

After clicking to apply, the summary of accounts showed the MSN icon but
the details that should be to the left of it were missing.

Though I had already entered my password I was asked for it again.

I then received an error that I was unable to connect.

I then chose to modify the account details, the screen name field had
changed to @hotmail.com, there is no @hotmail.com in my address

I changed the details, chose to reconnect and now everything is working
well.

[Bug 183534] Re: 'Context menu Close' from a window selector (bottom panel) doesn't close all apps

2008-01-16 Thread Roberto Sarrionandia
This should be wishlist.

Gnome offers to kill an application if it is detected as frozen for a
while.

You can do it manually by adding the force-quit applet to the panel, you
can then click a window to kill it.

The problem you describe is applicable when Gnome doesn't detect that an
application has frozen, correct? (The window doesn't turn grey)

[Bug 180423] Re: Keyboard not functioning in X

2008-01-16 Thread Roberto Sarrionandia
We'd also like to check whether or not this is a bug with the GUI or
with the kernel.

Please could you try booting from the CD again. When the menu for the CD
comes up, don't choose to start or install ubuntu yet.

Instead, press f6.

You will see a line of options written at the bottom. With the keyboard,
navigate to and delete the words quiet and splash

Write the word single where they were.

The computer will start in a command line interface. Please could you
let me know if the keyboard works here

If it does, you can shutdown by typing

sudo shutdown -h 0

If not, try pressing the power button, it should send the signal to
perform a shutdown. If it doesn't you might have to hold in the button
for 6 seconds.

Either way, please report your findings.

Thanks again.

2008-01-06 Thread Roberto Sarrionandia
Thanks for reporting this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.

This is an odd problem, it might be specific to your hardware.

Could you help us diagnose the problems by running the commands

lspci lspci
uname -a uname

You should find two files in your home folder, lspci and uname, please
upload them to this bug report as attachments.

Thanks

OK, thanks for that.

Now could you run

sudo reboot reboot

Your comptuer shouldn't restart as you say you need to reboot three
times for it to actually work, you should now have a reboot file in your
home folder. Could you upload that as well please?
