[Bug 986430] [NEW] Enigmail does not detect PGP/MIME signatures inside MIME containers

2012-04-20 Thread Roland Hieber
Public bug reported:

Enigmail 1.4 from lucid-proposed does not detect PGP/MIME signatures if
the message itself is encapsulated in another MIME container, which is
the case on mailman mailing lists (see attached sample mail). In this
case, the OpenPGP pane in the message view (the one saying Good
signature from...) is not visible, but no error is shown either. With
the older Enigmail 1.1 (from current lucid-updates), this detection
worked well, and the OpenPGP pane with the validity of the signature was
shown as expected.

[Bug 528432] Re: [gm45] X crashes and restarts with *ERROR* Failed to pin buffer 4 of 17

2012-02-04 Thread Roland Hieber
I was getting this error in dmesg too on my Lenovo ThinkPad SL510, with
linux-image-2.6.32-38-generic_2.6.32-38.83. However, i915_error_state
and Xorg.0.log were both free of error messages, although X crashed
restarted. When I tried to debug the X server, gdb said that the program
exited with code 1.

In my case, it was the picture
http://stratum0.org/images/8/8e/20120204-Pony.jpg that caused Xorg to
crash when opened in Firefox, but it seems that the error is gone in
linux-image-3.2.0-997-generic_3.2.0-997.201201050433 from the drm-intel-
next mainline builds. When I open that link in Firefox, all I get now
is:

[drm:i915_gem_mmap_gtt] *ERROR* Attempting to mmap a purgeable buffer

I tried to do a git bisect of v2.6.32.52.21 to 3.2.0, but have not yet
been successful compiling the kernel from Git... :-| I will keep on
trying though.

[Bug 874139] [NEW] xchat does not remember enable logging and display scrollback settings

2011-10-14 Thread Roland Hieber
Public bug reported:

In the Preferences dialog, under Channels - Logging, when I turn off
the checkboxes Display scrollback from previous session and Enable
logging of conversations to disk, they have no effect and are checked
again when I restart XChat. Also the conversations are logged, and
previous scrollback is displayed.

However, when I set irc_logging = 0 in my ~/.xchat/xchat.conf, logging
is off, and also the checkbox is unchecked. But I was not able to
identify the setting which affects the display scrollback option.

[Bug 839251] Re: EOG and Firefox eat up memory when opening animated GIF

2011-09-08 Thread Roland Hieber
apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected

** Description changed:

When trying to open a specific GIF file with either Firefox or EOG, the
process eats up all the system memory (4GB in my case), so the system
starts to swap and becomes unusable.

  According to the file(1) utility:
  evil-2336-6467_c39e.gif: GIF image data, version 89a, 2 x 8880
Also, GIMP manages to open the file, showing 42 transparent frames of size
2 x 8880, except the first frame, which is completely black.

KolourPaint, the Windows Explorer and the Windows Internet Explorer
display the file as a 44x44 pixel image, which I suppose is the correct
size. However, also the GNOME file open dialog displayes the first frame
  from the file correctly.

I can confirm that behaviour. Same happens for removal of favorite
channels via the context menu on the channel tab.

After a few tries, FF 3.6.21 seems to be okay with sites that crashed
earlier.

[Bug 839251] [NEW] EOG and Firefox eat up memory when opening animated GIF

2011-09-01 Thread Roland Hieber
Public bug reported:

Versions used on my system:
firefox 3.6.21+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.10.04.1,
from lucid-updates
gimp 2.6.10-1ubuntu3~ppa1~lucid1, from
ppa:lucid-bleed/ppa
kolourpaint4 4:4.4.5-0ubuntu1, from lucid-updates
file 5.03-5ubuntu1, from lucid
eog 2.30.0-0ubuntu1, from lucid

[Bug 822885] [NEW] Firefox makes X hang when viewing big images

2011-08-08 Thread Roland Hieber
Public bug reported:

I've experienced some times now that when I load big images in Firefox,
the X server hangs. This occurs with a default Firefox profile, and for
example reproducible on http://sortvis.org/algorithms/bubblesort.html
(needs JavaScript). In this case, Xorg goes up to 100% CPU, and I does
not react to key presses (except when using the SysRq shortcuts to kill
it). I have a backtrace (see gdb-Xorg-direct.txt), with Xorg started
from gdb as root, and then browsing Firefox to the mentioned URL. From
the backtrace, it seems to be related with libpixman; however, when I
install libpixman-1-0-dbg to get a reasonable backtrace, the X hangs do
not occur anymore...

I am currently using Ubuntu Lucid LTS, with Firefox 3.6.18+build2
+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.10.04.2 from lucid-updates.

[Bug 822885] Re: Firefox makes X hang when viewing big images

2011-08-08 Thread Roland Hieber
I was able to get a backtrace with libpixman debug symbols. The problem
persists, but I was able to browse various other pages of the site
before X hung again.

[Bug 144175] Re: tilda stays like a gray window

2011-05-29 Thread Roland Hieber
I have the feeling that it has something to do with the animated
pulldown feature. I have been using it for almost a month now without
animation, and greying did never happen. As soon as I enable animated
pulldown, after a few (about 10 to 20) hides and unhides it goes gray.
And then it dowsn't help to disable the animation again, it stays grey
until I restart it.

OK, sorry, I was too stupid to build deb packages... The Gentoo patch
has now been working for a day (and 2 reboots) as expected, even for the
Scale plugin :-)

[Bug 499938] [NEW] kaffeine-1.0 lacks deinterlace support

possible to apply a deinterlacing filter for the video stream, the
Playback - Video menu which existed in 0.8.7 (from jaunty) is simply
not there anymore. Furthermore, I am disappointed about the philosophy
to remove features just because porting to the Qt4 and KDE4 release and

[Bug 342553] [NEW] No window title bar and frame when started in fullscreen mode

2009-03-13 Thread Roland Hieber
Public bug reported:

I have kompare-4:4.2.0-0ubuntu1~intrepid1 installed on Ubuntu 8.10 from
intrepid-backports. Everytime I close Kompare with the diff window (not
the file open wizard) in maximized mode and then open it again with the
file name of a patch (or two files to be compared) specified on the
command line, the window title bar and the window frame of the diff
window are gone and the window fills the whole screen, so I can't make
it go back into windowed mode again.

The only solution to have it start in windowed mode again is then to
edit my ~/.kde/share/config/komparerc and remove the Width and
Height lines in the [General Options] section.

This is the full komparerc that makes it broken (which actually is the
config after Kompare, i.e. the diff window, has been closed in maximized
mode):

[General Options]
Height 1024=1025
State=/wD9AQIAAAUAu/wBAfsUAE4AYQB2AGkAZwBhAHQAaQBvAG4BBQG6AP///wAABQLlBAQICPwBAgEWAG0AYQBpAG4AVABvAG8AbABCAGEAcgEF
Width 1280=1281

I can reproduce this behaviour with 4:4.1.4-0ubuntu1~intrepid1.1 and
4:4.1.2-0ubuntu1 too.

[Bug 342553] Re: No window title bar and frame when started in fullscreen mode

2009-03-13 Thread Roland Hieber
Maybe it is important that my screen is 1280x1024, and I'm running
gnome-1:2.24.0-0ubuntu1 with compiz-1:0.7.8-0ubuntu4.1.

[Bug 270374] Re: [intrepid] enter a computer name then hit enter, list stays on screen and steals input

2009-01-11 Thread Roland Hieber
Same for me. I thought if it has anything todo with compiz, but when I
disable it, it's still the same.

[Bug 285265] Re: KPatience dies with ASSERT: !pixmap().isNull()

2008-11-23 Thread Roland Hieber
Here is the debug output with everything checked in kdebugdialog.

After that, I only get a windows of KCrash saying that The application
KPatience (kpat) crashed and caused the signal 6 (SIGABRT). I guess
that KCrash generates the same backtrace as already provided in a
previous comment, so I'm not posting it here.
