[Bug 989581] Re: Black areas in gnome-system-monitor graphs when running under xfce

2012-05-06 Thread Roman Pach
The issue is, that you have not set up the gtk3 theme in xubuntu.
It should better be done by xubuntu desktop, I think.
So it's anyway a kind of bug.

See please the blog on

http://binbashblog.blogspot.de/2011/10/manually-change-gtk3-theme-in-xubuntu.html

The following has helped:
  cp -r /usr/share/themes/greybird/gtk-3.0 ~/.config

For root account you need:
  sudo cp -r /usr/share/themes/greybird/gtk-3.0 /root/.config

There were the problem with black areas with other gtk3 application as well,
e.g. evince.

Re: [Bug 312699] Re: ubuntu 8.10, qvlc does not set GUI font size

2009-01-03 Thread Roman Pach
qt version: 4.4.3-0ubuntu1.x

I've tested it once more. I have done the following steps:

1. the PC runs with the Ubuntu
2. to use the KDE tools (e.g. Konqueror) the kubuntu desktop has been
installed as well.
3. the new user has been created and loged in
4. the font size has been set using systemsettings
5. the vlc player has been called
6. at this moment the font size is not correct !!!

systemsettings shows the new font type and size
qtconfig shows the old (default?) value

--- THE FOLLOWING has helped ---

7. the systemsettings has been called some more times to change the the
   Appearance - Style
8. the font type and size are correct now
systemsettings and qtconfig show the same font type and size

[Bug 312699] [NEW] ubuntu 8.10, qvlc does not set GUI font size

2008-12-31 Thread Roman Pach
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: vlc

I'm working with ubuntu 8.10.
The kubuntu is installed on the computer as well.
The font size for every user on the computer has been set up using
/usr/bin/systemsettings.

Problem:
While starting the qvlc (vlc with qt) the proper GUI font size is set only
for one of the users. I suppose he is the one, who called the vlc
as the first one after vlc has been installed.

The used packages:

kubuntu-desktop 1.101
vlc 0.9.4-1ubuntu3
systemsettings 4:4.1.3-0ubuntu1~intrepid1

** Affects: vlc (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

Re: [Bug 292167] Re: ubuntu 8.10, network manager 0.7 failes to connect to wlan (ndiswrapper + wg311v2 + WPA)

2008-12-27 Thread Roman Pach
I've updated the following packages from PPA:

network-manager Version: 0.7-0ubuntu1~nm1~intrepid1
libmbca0 Version: 0.0.3~bzr42-0ubuntu3~nm1
libnm-glib-devVersion: 0.7-0ubuntu1~nm1~intrepid1
libnm-glib0 Version: 0.7-0ubuntu1~nm1~intrepid1
libnm-util0 Version: 0.7~~svn20081018t105859-0ubuntu2~nm4
network-manager-gnome Version: 0.7-0ubuntu1~nm1~intrepid1

Then tested the network manager a few times. I could see the same issue,
no problems while connecting over ifup, and timeouts while trying it
with network manager.

Attached is the file syslog.

I've built in some debug messages in the src directory of
gnome-network-manager. The state machine wireless_get_icon() in the file

there forever.

Re: [Bug 292167] Re: ubuntu 8.10, network manager 0.7 failes to connect to wlan (ndiswrapper + wg311v2 + WPA)

2008-11-04 Thread Roman Pach
I've installed the launchpad network-manager packages.
Unfortunately the network-manager still could not connect to wlan.
I attach the new syslog file.

There must be a reason why the ifup has no problems and network-manager
has. I'd rather suggest there are some issues with the communication
between the network manager and the wpa_supplicant.

I can see in the syslog the wpa_supplicant state machine could not setup
the communication with the access point. I think the software had enough
time to do it, so I can't believe we have timing problems.

[Bug 292167] Re: ubuntu 8.10, network manager 0.7 failes to connect to wlan (ndiswrapper + wg311v2 + WPA)

2008-11-01 Thread Roman Pach
Hello,

I've measured the run time of ifup. Here is the result:

  [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/roman# time ifup wlan0
  ioctl[SIOCSIWPMKSA]: Invalid argument
  ioctl[SIOCSIWPMKSA]: Invalid argument

  real 0m0.901s
  user 0m0.168s
  sys 0m0.240s

There are some files attached.
These ones prefixed with ifup-* contain the information while activating
the WLAN with the static configuration from /etc/network/interfaces.

The rest with the prefix nm-* were created during the attempt of
network-manager to connect to the access point.

Please let me know, if you need more information.
