[Bug 1945590] Re: Thinkpad E14 Gen2: Kernel panic with trackpad and trackpoint enabled

2021-10-21 Thread Claudio Romeo
I got the same kernel panic error showed in the "S13 kernel panic" image by
Pietro Mingo (skar395).
I workarounded the problem by entering the BIOS and disabling the trackpoint.
The trackpad can remain active.
This is not a solution, but it works.
Please, forgive my bad English

[Bug 1831964] [NEW] Miix 320 10ICR install ubuntu 19.04

2019-06-07 Thread Romeo Petruca
Public bug reported:

Installed ok.
Touchscreen working fine only in portrait.
In landscape if touching "Activities" will open
"Sound volume", "Brightnes", "WiFi", controls on right top corner.

- internal micro sd, webcams, still not working, waiting for that, minor
problems for me.

It's realy good think to get rid of windows.

[Bug 1438874] Re: from PyQt5.QtWidgets import * fails

2015-04-29 Thread Romeo Disca

[Bug 850703] [NEW] metacity crashes when closing WINE dialogs

2011-09-15 Thread Calota Romeo
Public bug reported:

Description:Ubuntu oneiric (development branch)
Release:11.10
metacity:
  Installed: 1:2.34.1-1ubuntu3
  Candidate: 1:2.34.1-1ubuntu3
  Version table:
 *** 1:2.34.1-1ubuntu3 0
500 http://td.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric/main i386 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Whenever I close a dialog for a Windows application in Unity-2d metacity
crashes and restarts (sometimes). Metacity's output when crashing is the
following:
Bug in window manager: Unexpected X error: BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)
serial 54010 error_code 3 request_code 19 minor_code 0)
Aborted (core dumped)

How to reproduce:
With metacity as the window manager open the WINE task manager (wine taskmgr).
Select New Task... browse to an executable the little dialog pops up with the
location and click Ok. Metacity crashes.

[Bug 492679] Re: evtouch crashes Xorg on AMD GEODE

2010-04-15 Thread Romeo
that's my custom build of evtouch driver. it has minimal possibilities
but fully answers the demands for my application (touchscreen for pay
terminals). it traces only button_press, button_release, and cursor
positioning events. if you need to emulate right-click or other stuff
you need to write your own state-machine over this build. i've cut out
practically everything from this driver, so it is rather simple to
understand the code.

some words about configuration and calibration. this driver needs manual
configuration, so be patient as you will be modifying xorg.conf-
restarting xorg for some time before you get it work properly.

config options are:

Option MinX 200
Option MaxX 2000
Option MinY 200
Option MaxY 2000

Option ButtonNumber 1 #this shows which button click do we emulate -
default is the left one

Option Rotate CW # or CCW

Option SwapX 0 #or 1
Option SwapY 0 #or 1

any other doesn't makes sense, except

Option ScreenNumber 0

which i don't know is made for (for multi-screen setups i guess)

feel free to ask any questions concerning the code. hope this will help you.

** Attachment added: custom evtouch 0.8.8. implements minimal configuration
and functionality (single button touch and release, cursor positioning,
coordinate convertion, aix swapping, screen rotate)

[Bug 492679] Re: evtouch crashes Xorg on AMD GEODE

2010-04-10 Thread Romeo
I confirm that this is the evtouch driver bug! i've rewritten the driver
for my custom needs and everything has gone. the problem was in libtouch
timers, so i've disabled all unneded functions for my application.

if you don't need 3 button emulation an right-click emulation i can send
you my source or precompiled version to try.

Installing python-numeric solved this issue and now Labyrinth runs
normal. Maybe dependency is missing?

Romeo,

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and help to improve
Ubuntu.

The problem here is that you have grub1 installed, when the version of
grub installed with Ubuntu 9.10 is grub2. There were a number of bugs
in this area that were resolved between beta and final release; can you
tell us what packages are removed if you try to run 'sudo apt-get
install grub-pc'?

Removing grub is exactly what should happen, you'll find on the next
update that this issue is now fixed for you.

It looks like you were affected by one of the bugs in the beta cycle
that forced removal of grub-pc in favor of grub - since this bug is
fixed, I'm closing this report.

[Bug 492679] [NEW] evtouch crashes Xorg on AMD GEODE

2009-12-04 Thread Romeo
Public bug reported:

Xorg locks-up only when i'm using evtouch touchscreen.

when i do double or tripple click on touchscreen Xserver locks-up. i can
ssh into my box, see the logs, etc. but there're no something suspecious
in it. i have enabled debug options in evtouch - all log activity stops
when X is halt.

if i kill Xorg it stops, but display continues to show static image.
if i start Xorg again - it starts as usual.

i mentioned strange dependencies on system load
if i use touchscreen on pure X (only icewm manager is started) there're no
lock-ups mentioned. if i start any GTK app (which doesn't consumes much CPU)
lock-ups are very rare. but if GTK application starts consuming a lot of
processing resources (i.e. starts frequent redraws, etc.) system can lock-up in
some taps. but when i use mouse under the same conditions - no lock-ups are
detected

this is not HAL-related problem as i do not use it,
i do enable send core events in evtouch config, so this issue is not goes from
this.

I'm using Latest Karmic release with all packages up to date. this bug
wasn't mentioned on 8.10

[Bug 231482] [NEW] Problem filling up PDF form

2008-05-17 Thread Romeo Olida
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evince

It can not fill PDF forms that have drop down selection for date entry. You can
enter the dates, but upon going to the next question box, you don't see the
entry you've made.
Also, you can see text entered into certain boxes, but the moment you go to
next question box, the text type and size are not what you've used.

[Bug 180742] Re: xf86-video-amd: switching to a vcons fails

2008-02-07 Thread Romeo
i've tried to compile kernel v2.6.24 with AMD GEODE family framebufer
support (as described on http://ca.blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-
RkGSoVA1brWtXrVH9Gr5CzgVujwwGg--?cq=1tag=lx800 ) - the same behavour as
described before =( is this related to xorg-core? or this is a kernel
bug?

[Bug 180742] Re: xf86-video-amd: switching to a vcons fails

2008-02-04 Thread Romeo
i've compiled and installed it. works perfectly, returns to text mode
without any problems! thanx, Bart! great work! now reading material
about that you gave me.

one more question. as i understood this patch has not been included in
Gusty updates yet, so i don't need to update xorg-core from Gusty
repository?

[Bug 180742] Re: xf86-video-amd: switching to a vcons fails

2008-02-03 Thread Romeo
thank you for your help! but, i have a little problem while applying
pacth.

on patch -s -p1 process freezes and doesnt produce neither error
messages nor success.
maybe i did something wrong? what patches must be applied before this one?

or this behavour is normal?

p.s. excuse me for my bad english. i haven't practiced it for a log
time.

[Bug 180742] Re: xf86-video-amd: switching to a vcons fails

2008-02-03 Thread Romeo
yes, i've missed it =)

now compiling.

one more question about patching:

if i need to obtain original source code (without patches applied) what
should i do? simply tell apt-get source xserver-xorg-core again?

i just can't uderstand how the process of patching works. as i know, it
replaces some pieces of original source code with new ones. but how it
determines the version of source, finds position to write patch to?

can you give me any links to read more about it?
