[Bug 1733557] Re: Login screen showing Authentication Failure Switch to greeter...

2018-05-20 Thread Ross Reedstrom
count me an additional sufferer - 16.04.4, upgraded as upgrades came
out. I also see the behavior go away for a time, then come back after
the computer has not rebooted for a period of time. I see it no matter
how the computer is locked: crtl-alt-L, lid close to sleep, timeout, the
. Once the authentication error shows up, it doesn't go away until a
full reboot. Single user/session

Dell XPS 15 (9550) intel/nvidia, stock everything, except kernel updated
to 4.15.0-20-generic #21~16.04.1-Ubuntu

[Bug 149551] Re: a2ps exits with 'unknown medium libpaper' error when file /etc/papersize is missing

2014-02-06 Thread Ross Reedstrom
This hit me as well on quantal.
BTW, rather than doing the 'tee' dance, you can just use bash:
sudo bash -c 'echo letter >/etc/papersize'

[Bug 732010] Re: gracie is undocumented

2012-09-27 Thread Ross Reedstrom
There's a (trivial) patch attached to the equivalent Debian bug report:

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?msg=15;filename=fix-
resource-not-found.patch;att=1;bug=633856

Often good to go check Debian's buglog as well, especially for packages that
seem to have been brought over directly,
like this one.

While gracie is still fairly undocumented, at least with this patch it's
usable, and serves as simple example implementation for the python-
openid module.

[Bug 201202] Re: WiFi roaming causes NetworkManager to lose routing

2008-10-09 Thread Ross Reedstrom
Seeing the same thing, here. W/ both an HP tablet (ipw2100) and a newer
thinkpad (don't have the model to hand). Same setup, multiple APs, one
SSID, different subnets. Roam, and bingo, lost network. I'm tempted to
set up a log monitor to poke dhclient when it sees a roaming event,
even.
