Further discussion in bug 44233 seems to suggest that this may be due to
the fact that your DVD was burned in multisession mode. Can you burn 2
test discs, one in multisession and one as a single session using Nero
(Windows) or K3B (Linux) and test this? Thanks!

Ubuntu Gutsy server takes too long to boot up as a guest on VMWare ESX

restart the pommed service to get things like the keyboard backlight

I think this is more about upgrading the fglrx module in Gutsy...
unfortunately, I think this isn't possible with the current policies,
not even with a backport request. I think the best thing to do is to
nominate this bug for Hardy (i.e. request that Hardy ship with this

I am attaching the requested /var/log/installer/syslog file off a fresh
amd64 Feisty server install. I'm not sure, maybe just the regular
desktop install is affected? However, my /var/log/installer/syslog file
shows that the feisty-updates repositories were consulted during the
install.
Update: ndiswrapper works fairly well with the latest Bootcamp Windows
XP driver. I will have to do further tests to see if the slowness I
experienced was due to a half-stunned access point or whether it was
signal strength/distance/interference related.
