Some more information: The error in the messages above are from a
machine with Intel Graphics: Intel Corporation HD Graphics 620 (rev 02).
I also tested it in a machine with an nVidia card, and the game runs
correctly there. I think the issue is Intel not supporting 8-bit color
modes correctly.
I also ran it within

to ensure PseudoColor was available:

I have the same problem with an acer Travelmate 4000.
Wireless was working perfectly in Feisty.
After an update to Gutsy, kill switch is always off. Pressing the button won't
change the status.
Booting with the old 2.6.20-16 kernel works perfectly in gutsy, but the
default kernel in gutsy
No, I'm going to test the machine in October.
I have not had this oops afterwards, although my machine hangs every now and
then.
Let's mark this bug closed for the time being, and I'll post some more comments
