2016-04-04 Thread Ruben Verweij
Thunar also crashed for me when trying to rename a file. Crash happened
after the file was successfully renamed.

[Bug 789541] [NEW] Grid plugin: only if the cursor gets near to the edge the window is scaled

2011-05-28 Thread Ruben Verweij
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: compiz-plugins-main

I'm not sure whether this is the right package, please correct it if I
got it wrong.

The problem is this: when moving a window to e.g. the right edge of the
screen, it should fill the right half of the screen with the grid plugin
enabled. This only happens if the cursor (grabbing hand on the window's
title bar) is close to the edge. So, if you grab the window on the far
left side of the bar, it only gets scaled when the whole window has
already disappeared into the right edge of the screen.

I hope this explanation has been clear enough. If you have any
questions, please ask.

[Bug 685050] [NEW] Inconsistent naming in A program is still running: dialog

2010-12-03 Thread Ruben Verweij
Public bug reported:

If you select the option Restart from the menu and some program is
still running and not responding, you can choose between three options:
Lock Screen, Cancel and Reboot Anyway. The last option should be
Restart Anyway. This is a trivial issue, but shouldn't be too hard to
fix either. I am using natty and didn't know which package name to feed
to apport, for reference see the attached screenshot. If any more
information is required, I will provide it.

[Bug 629381] [NEW] [needs-packaging] Thunderbird Indicator

2010-09-03 Thread Ruben Verweij
Public bug reported:

This is an add-on for Mozilla Thunderbird which notifies you of new mail
messages via Ubuntu's standard notification system and the Messaging
menu. Once a new mail is received, the Messaging menu's icon turns green
and a notification pops up. The Indicator Applet also provides quick
access to your contacts and allows you to compose a new message.

[Bug 623055] Re: wxbanker crashed with IndexError in load_series()

2010-08-24 Thread Ruben Verweij
I was prompted to report this by apport. I tried to reproduce it, but
that didn't work. I did get another error, though, so for that I will
file a separate bug report. Furthermore, I got the first start dialog
again. All my data was saved, but apparently it didn't remember I had
already used it sometime. This may have something to do with this crash,
because on the third time I started wxbanker the dialog was not
displayed. If I can be of any further help, please let me know.

[Bug 600215] [NEW] Unable to tell who's online based on mono icons

2010-06-30 Thread Ruben Verweij
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: empathy

I'm using Maverick. The new mono status icons for Empathy do not allow
me (with mild colour blindness) to distinguish between
online/away/offline etc. friends. I suggest either switching back to the
old icons or drawing the respective symbols in a dark colour on the icon
instead of white. If any more information is needed, I will happily
provide it.

[Bug 584540] [NEW] [maverick] dual monitors not configurable (nouveau)

2010-05-23 Thread Ruben Verweij
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau

I'm using maverick, in lucid both my monitors were detected
automatically using the nouveau driver and I was able to configure the
desktop to span across the monitors with metacity compositing enabled.
Now I still have the metacity compositing, but the output is the same in
both monitors now and under Preferences-Monitors my monitor is reported
as unknown with only the resolution 1280x1024 and a refresh rate of 0
Hz. The only rotation available is normal. If there is any more
information required, I will provide it.

[Bug 551880] [NEW] [lucid] plymouth-theme-ubuntu-logo causes plymouth to hang

2010-03-30 Thread Ruben Verweij
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: plymouth

I already reported a bug about plymouth not working for me with nouveau. Since
then there has been some improvements, as I can see plymouth now and my
computer does boot.
However: using the Ubuntu Logo theme from plymouth-theme-ubuntu-logo my
computer won't boot. Plymouth is shown, all the dots become red and the screen
stays like that until I press the power switch. I noticed my keyboard is turned
off the moment the last dot becomes red.
Removing the package plymouth-theme-ubuntu-logo solves the problem. The text
based theme is displayed and the computer boots. If any additional information
is required, I'll happily provide it.

[Bug 518034] Re: [lucid] Plymouth hangs at boot

2010-02-11 Thread Ruben Verweij
I'd love to, but I'm experiencing bug 516381. Also, I can only run the
command in 2.6.31-18 because 2.6.32.12.12 won't boot if plymouth is
installed. Removing plymouth solves the issue. So, if bug 516381 is
resolved, should I run it in the older kernel or in the newer kernel
without plymouth? Or is there another way?

[Bug 518034] Re: [lucid] Plymouth hangs at boot

2010-02-07 Thread Ruben Verweij
I think the duplicate status is wrong, because in that bug the kernel doesn't
lock up. I'm not able to switch to another tty because my whole kernel freezes
and no key presses are registered any more.
Also, I don't have the freeze *when* plymouth is displaying the ubuntu logo but
*after* it has vanished.
Therefore, I don't think this is a duplicate of 510524. Correct me if I'm wrong.

[Bug 501656] [NEW] Super-small notification bubbles

2009-12-30 Thread Ruben Verweij
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: notify-osd

I am using Sans 9.5 px as application/document/desktop font, as you can
see in the screenshot the text in the notification bubble is way smaller
than the rest of the text on the desktop. I am using the nouveau drivers
and I'm experiencing this bug, though I'm not sure whether it's related:
bug #389206.

[Bug 498493] [NEW] [lucid] unable to install gnome-shell

2009-12-19 Thread Ruben Verweij
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-shell

I'm on Lucid and gnome-shell isn't installing. I'm trying to install
gnome-shell 2.28.0-0ubuntu2.

Output:

gnome-shell:
Depends: gobject-introspection-glib-2.0 but it is not installable
Depends: gobject-introspection-freedesktop but it is not installable
Depends: gobject-introspection-repository but it is not installable

I searched for these packages in Synaptic, I found the package gir1.0-glib-2.0
(0.6.5-4), installed it, but gnome-shell is still not installable.
If I need to collect more information, please tell me.

[Bug 495484] [NEW] [lucid] Metacity doesn't start automatically

2009-12-11 Thread Ruben Verweij
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: metacity

At every startup, I'm forced to execute metacity --replace to get it
running again. It might have something to do with an update about not
forcing to start metacity when using a different window manager, though
I don't use compiz or anything other.

[Bug 493257] [NEW] Unusable on small screens

2009-12-06 Thread Ruben Verweij
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: bouncy

Although the game seems to be fun, it is unusable on small screens. I
have a resolution of 1024x600 (Asus Eee 1000HE) and all I see when the
game starts is a huge logo and the upper half of (I)nstructions. I
tried some random keys like s and b to start the game and the game in
itself works fine, the resolution just needs to be adjustable.

[Bug 486384] [NEW] [lucid] network connection timing out

2009-11-21 Thread Ruben Verweij
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: network-manager

I am using Lucid. ;-)

I noticed that sometimes the wireless internet connection seems to be lost,
pages take ages to load and eventually I get a timeout error. When I reconnect
to the network via the network manager, everything starts working again for
twoish minutes before it breaks again and I'm forced to reconnect. Didn't
happen in any previous versions, so I'd say it's a regression.
I also have another problem with wireless connectivity which I think is related
(if not, I'll file another bug) - after resume from hibernation I can't
reconnect to my network and I am forced to do a reboot. In the log files you
can see that the connection times out every time.
I hope I gave enough information, if not, I will most happily provide it.

I should mention that the audit messages I get about firefox are not
causing this problem as I get the problem in Thunderbird too. I also
have disabled the Apparmor profile for Firefox, but the problem persist.
(of the timeouts, not the audits of course)
