Ah, excuse my confusion. I'd missed that Joseph Salisbury works at Canonical. Joseph, could you increase the priority of this bug? It makes many (of not all) of the Skylake-based Lenovo laptops unusable, and there is a working patch which has been accepted upstream (albeit for 4.6.x not 4.4.x).
