[Bug 1791936] Re: GNOME system-monitor cpu graph color does not update or persist
Not only can I not change the colours (also in Ubuntu 18.04), it seems many other elements of the settings are broken. The stacked area chart button, and the smooth graph button result in unpredictable behavior. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1791936 Title: GNOME system-monitor cpu graph color does not update or persist To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-system-monitor/+bug/1791936/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1819420] Re: Apparent bug: Dell tablet crashes when plugged into docking station with 4.15.0-46 kernel
** Description changed: This appears to be the same bug that was present, two kernels ago: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1813795 I switched to the 46 kernel from the 45 today, and noticed my tablet hangs when its plugged into the docking station. Without the docking station it appears fine. As with the previous bug, even when it hangs, I can ssh into the tablet. So it appears to be the user interface that's frozen. The mouse pointer remains mobile. Note: this run of apport is pre-crash. Note 2: I encountered this bug three boots in a row yesterday. But today I have been unable to duplicate it. So I'm a little confused. I'll try to duplicate the bug again tonight. If I can't, I'll close this thread. + + Note 3: I have been unable to duplicate this bug. Please consider this + case resolved. [Bug 1813663] Re: External monitors does not work anymore 4.15.0-44
Do we know the full extent of this bug? I reverted to kernel 4.15.0-43, which resolved the issue on my tablet. But I noticed my desktop having some trouble this morning (weird file copy errors, reporting my printer was not accepting jobs and some unusual wifi cut- offs). I'll switch back to 4.15.0-43 on my desktop as well to see if that solves the problem there. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1813663 Title: External monitors does not work anymore 4.15.0-44 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1813663/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1813795] Re: Dell tablet crashes when plugged into docking station with 4.15.0-44 kernel
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected bionic ** Description changed: I have a Dell 5290 2-in-1 tablet that has been running Ubuntu 18.04 successfully for several months. Today I upgraded the kernel from 4.15.0-43 to 4.15.0-44. The tablet functions normally until it is plugged into its docking station, then the screen freezes. Technically, the screen flickers a few times, then goes blank, leaving only the frozen mouse pointer. The system is still running, though as I can ssh into my tablet. sudo reboot will not reboot the tablet, but sudo reboot -f will. When I force the tablet to load 4.15.0-43, the tablet functions normally. i.e. even when I plug it into its docking station, it continues to perform properly. [Bug 1813795] [NEW] Dell tablet crashes when plugged into docking station with 4.15.0-44 kernel
Public bug reported: I have a Dell 5290 2-in-1 tablet that has been running Ubuntu 18.04 successfully for several months. It's only with 4.15.0-44 that it freezes. As you can see from the linked question and forum thread, this appears to be affecting many Dell tablets and laptops. It also appears clear that the bug is not present in 4.15.0-43. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Incomplete ** Tags: bot-comment -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1813795 Title: Dell tablet crashes when plugged into docking station with 4.15.0-44 kernel To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1813795/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1804130] [NEW] package initramfs-tools 0.130ubuntu3.5 failed to install/upgrade: installed initramfs-tools package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1
Public bug reported: This happened on a near-fresh install of 18.04 on a new computer. I was having trouble getting the NVIDIA proprietary drivers working. So I did quite a bit of install/uninstall cycles, failing to get the NVIDIA drivers working. I couldn't seem to get the NVIDIA drivers to work. I just recently discovered the reason -- I had the UEFI secure boot setup. So I disabled UEFI using the mokutil --disable-validation command. This crash occured on a system reboot. I imagine I can fix my setup from here. I'll update the thread, regardless of the outcome. I think perhaps Ubuntu would benefit from a warning, during the installation process that UEFI secure boot can cause problems such as this. Also, when installing NVIDIA drivers with the "Software and Updates" GUI, there should be some indication of the problems if the UEFI secure boot is enabled. Perhaps users should be blocked from attempting the install, and pointed towards mokutil. [Bug 1611831] Re: Can't boot from new kernel 4.4.0-34. Old kernel 4.4.0-31 is fine.
The bug is only semi-fixed upstream. With kernels 4.4.0-36 and 38 there is still a bug but it is different than what I originally reported. With these two kernels, I can boot up the system and even log in, but once I log in my home directory appears to be empty. I imagine this is because it remains encrypted.
