2020-03-06 Thread Séverin Lemaignan
Tested on Fedora 31 (linux 5.3.7) from a Live session, works ok.

What has been specifically tested:

echo freeze | sudo tee /sys/power/state

-> goes to soft suspend mode; power led turns off; on pressing the power
button, resumes without error

echo mem | sudo tee /sys/power/state

-> goes to suspend mode; power led turns off; on pressing the power
button, resumes without error

echo disk | sudo tee /sys/power/state

-> fails to hibernate (power led remains on, had to hard shutdown the
laptop)

[Bug 1154045] Re: lightdm fails to launch gnome-shell

2013-04-18 Thread Séverin Lemaignan
Well, actually *installing* policykit-1-gnome indeed solves the problem.
This package had been replaced by policykit-1-fingerprint-gui while installing
the fingerprint reader support.

The bug should be probably re-assigned to that package.

Thanks a lot for pointing me to the issue!

[Bug 904211] [NEW] Ryzom, a GPL software, appears at USD$0.0 and require to go through the procedure to buy a software

2011-12-14 Thread Séverin Lemaignan

Step to reproduce:

- start the software center
- search for 'ryzom' and open the software page

Instead of being advertised as a free software (which it is from its

Installing it thus require goign through the Ubuntu authentification

In oneric, it is possible to disable the ubuntu startup sound in the
Startup applications menu (cf bug #840858). I think most users expect
instead to find this setting in the sound menu of the system settings

I confirm the GNOME login sound entry has been added to startup
applications.

But, as mentionned, this can only be considered as a workaround. I think
users are expecting to find this sound-related setting in the sound
preferences menu.
