[Bug 875424] Re: With USB Wi-Fi adapter, NM is unable to connect to any network with encryption; deleting connection details fixes the problem but it just happens again -- Realtek RTL8191S r8712u
It was such a long time ago when I reported this bug. I've no longer got the wifi adapter or the 11.04 installation to provide any further testing or data i'm afraid. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/875424 Title: With USB Wi-Fi adapter, NM is unable to connect to any network with encryption; deleting connection details fixes the problem but it just happens again -- Realtek RTL8191S r8712u To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/875424/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 875424] Re: unable to connect to encrypted access point with r8712 driver
If I delete the network connection details from /etc/NetworkManager /system-connections and then recreate the connection it will connect and work fine. If the connection is lost or I reboot the connection fails and I have to delete the connection and recreate it again. Additionally, when the connection fails I am prompted to enter the WEP key in a dialogue box. If I ignore the dialogue box another will eventually appear, and another, and... [Bug 641426] [NEW] apt-get upgrade spins up idle drives
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: apt apt 0.7.25.3ubuntu9.3 for amd64 compiled on Sep 9 2010 22:31:26 Linux cobalt 2.6.32-24-server #42-Ubuntu SMP Fri Aug 20 15:38:55 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux Description:Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS Release:10.04 apt-get upgrade seems to spin up idle drives unnecessarily. In a two drive machine where sda is system and sdb is an idle data drive: apt-get update will update the necessary files and leaves sbd spun down. apt-get upgrade upgrades files on sda but also spins up sdb even though no updated files reside on sdb. I would only expect sbd to spin up if data needed to to updated on sdb ** Affects: apt (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- apt-get upgrade spins up idle drives https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/641426 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 571444] Re: Boot hangs and unable to continue when automount disk in fstab is not available (Off or Disconnected)
I've just been hit by this bug on 2.6.32-24-server #38-Ubuntu SMP x86_64 GNU/Linux Here it's on a machine in a rack that has no video output or keyboard so all I initially observe is a machine that didn't restart from power down. Remove the fstab entry and attempt to mount the remote drive after boot and everything is fine. Error occurs if the device that failed to mount is remote or local. -- Boot hangs and unable to continue when automount disk in fstab is not available (Off or Disconnected) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/571444 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 272247] Re: System freezes during boot, unless I hold a key down
I've tried the following: If you have a custom DSDT, add acpi_no_initrd_override to the boot options. This - Then try the following combinations: * nohpet * idle=poll * acpi_skip_timer_override Do any of these make the boot work without a keypress? idle=poll works on my machine. Boot is as fast as Hardy. Fan speed is now proportionate to CPU temp again and CPU temps are back to normal. Watching the boot process without boot options everything is fine until Setting preliminary keyboard. At that point the keypressing is required. [Bug 272247] Re: System freezes during boot, unless I hold a key down
I have encountered the same problem on a Sony Vaio PCG-GRT796HP today. Hardy has no problems at all, Intrepid and Jaunty wont run properly unless a key is held down. I believe this is a problem caused by ACPI/DSDT.aml Hardy tries to load DSDT.aml from initramfs but fails. Intrepid and Jaunty succeed in finding DSDT.aml in initramfs, but it seems to be broken. Following up from my previous post. I installed Envy last night and used it to firstly remove the Nvidia drivers and then to reinstall them. Reinstalling the latest drivers made no difference at all, however reinstalling the 96.43.01 drivers makes the system behave much better. My system had got to the point were it was unusable as it would crash within 30mins and require a hard reset; no crash since installing the 96.43.01 via Envy.
