[Bug 1676303] [NEW] Unity wrongly scales font size after display scale >= 2
Public bug reported: I have HiDPI display and I want to increase size of controls and font. I use Display settings to increase scale for particular monitor. I noticed following strange behaviour: If scale setting configured in Display settings is less then 2, then font scale is increased accordingly. Once I increase scale to 2, the font scale is reduced back to 1. If I keep increasing display scale, the font scale will also increase proportionally but once I hit scale of 3, the font scale will be back at 1. So in order to use my HiDPI monitor, I have to keep Display scale at <2 (1.88). I would like to use something like 2+, but it currently not possible. [Bug 1620110] Re: vlc leaks memory
Sorry, I can't remember if I had libva-vdpau-gl1 installed. (I also had additional problems with system, like X server consuming 100% CPU and then application stops responding to key strokes, but when if finally recovers, then it keeps generating those strokes. [Bug 1620110] Re: vlc leaks memory
I have tried compiling vanilla vlc, both 2.2.2 and 2.2.4 version. 1. I didn't have all libraries, so I have disabled lua and other packages were excluded by configure script. No memory leak. 2. Then I installed lua compiler and lua lib. No memory leak. 3. Then I have installed all build dependencies, with sudo apt-get build-dep vlc. I couldn't build it due to missing backport in qt5: "You cannot build VLC with Qt-5.5.0. You need to backport I78ef29975181ee22429c9bd4b11d96d9e68b7a9c" Based on following link, this backport should be already in ubuntu/kubuntu, so I have commented out those three lines in configure.ac. This build did leak memory. 4. I have restored original configure.at and removed qt5-dev libraries in order to force compilation with qt4 libraries. This build did also leak memory. Check attached dpkg.log for installed libraries (some of this libraries triggers memory leak) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1620110 Title: vlc leaks memory To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vlc/+bug/1620110/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1594457] [NEW] dpkg-reconfigure does not process manually activated triggers
Public bug reported: I have package A that activated trigger and package B which should be reconfigured when trigger is activated (listens for trigger). Trigger is activated by postinst script in package A by using `dpkg-trigger my- trigger`. After looking into source code (/usr/sbin/dpkg-reconfigure), I can see that problem is in method triggers_pending from line 201-206. What happens is that variable $triggers will contain additional space at the end of line (not present in 16.04) and so it will satisfy condition on line 205. So what happens is following? 1. When dpkg-reconfigure is executed, triggers_pending is called to get information about packages with pending triggers 2. Because of bug, every package will be put into list (packages without pending triggers) 3. At the end, dpkg-reconfigure will call again triggers_pending() and will check of new packages that have pending triggers. But because all packages are on original list, no change is detected and none of pending packages is (re-)configured. This leave original package in trigger-pending state. How to reproduce? 1. Create package A, and it's postinst script call 'dpkg-trigger A-my-trigger' 2. Create package B, that listens for 'A-my-trigger' 3. Install both packages 4. Do: dpkg-reconfigure A 5. Package A will be left broken and no reconfigure step will be executed for package B How to fix? Well, I replaced /usr/sbin/dpkg-reconfigure: if (length $triggers) { with: if ($triggers !~ /^\s*$/) { and this solved the problem, except that it introduced additional problem: My package A does not use debconf for querying parameters and package B does. But because dpkg-reconfigure messes with DEBIAN_HAS_FRONTEND environment variable, the frontend is not started, but instead db_get questions are posted on console (to user) and reconfiguration is halted. Currently, I don't know enough debconf system in order to provide solution for this. ** Affects: debconf (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1594457 Title: dpkg-reconfigure does not process manually activated triggers To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/debconf/+bug/1594457/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1343036] [NEW] Split DNS does not work (openconnect)
Public bug reported: Split DNS seems not to be working with openconnect and network-manager. Diagnostic that I have performed: 1. I captured a log from dbus (see attachment) and it seems that plugin is sending all data atleast, but 3. Network manager sends wrong configuration to dnsmasq (see attachment). Plugins sends split dns _domains_ as part of first dbus message (member=Config). [Bug 115087] Re: Update manager fails - the package lists or status file could not be parsed opened
I can reproduce this bug, but it requires same specific set actions. After that, I get message that update manager could not parse or open /var/apt/list/sk... (whatever). I have a wireless network that requires web authentication. After you open the browser you are directed to login page and after you type correct login data, you get access to internet. My guess is that it works by redirecting DNS. Anyway, if I am connected to wireless, but have not completed web authentication, and in the meantime my package managers start and updates package information, the files in /var/apt/list/sk... would hold HTML code from login page instead package information. After I close update manager and open it again, I get message that it could not parse these files. Quick solution was to delete all files under /var/apt/list and start update manager again. It will then update package information and it will be able to work. But I guess that average user would not be able to do that. There can be many solutions to that: 1. when doing update, check that you really have been connected to internet 2. if /var/apt/list files are corrupted that delete them and update source list again (instead of just closing update manager) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/115087 Title: Update manager fails - the package lists or status file could not be parsed opened To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/115087/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 800817] [NEW] Changing VNET_SUBNET in eucalyptus.conf has no effect
Public bug reported: Uncommenting and changing VNET_SUBNET in eucalyptus.conf has no effect. Even after clean restart of eucalyptus-cloud and eucalyptus-cc, the virtuall Machines still get IP from old subnet 172.19.0.0. The only way to change this is to edit eucalyptus.local.conf. Since eucalyptus.local.conf should not be changed directly, there is no ordinary way to change subnet used in cloud systems. [Bug 686252] Re: Disconnects from wireless network every 1-5 minutes
Update: I tried sitting next to router (Linksys WRT54GL v1.1), and I had not this problems any more. (I usually work on other part of apartment which is 6-7 far away from router). BUT, I must state that even when I was on my usually place, the signal was very good and I had no problems with wireless before. And I use Windows sometimes, and I also have no problems with wireless. Since the signal is very good on both places and I had no problems when using Windows, I had maybe a clue what could cause these problems: Around me there is ca. 16 Wireless networks, and 10 of them are near to router and other 6 near to my usually position. I haven't checked, but I guess that notebook usually does not see all of these 10 network, and router does not see all of this 6, and this is somehow related to the CSMA and possible bug in driver. I am NOT wireless expert, nor my clue could be right, but this was my first thought, since everything is working fine in windows. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/686252 Title: Disconnects from wireless network every 1-5 minutes -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
