[Bug 1280776] Re: Sound not working on Dell Latitude E7440
Joseph Salisbury, after reporting this bug I tried changing some settings in alsamixer but it didn't seem to fix the issue. Then, after a reboot it started working although I didn't notice straight away so I'm not exactly sure what has made it work. This also happened on 13.10 -- i.e., it needed some encouragement before it starting working. I've just installed and tested kernel 3.14-rc4 and the sound is also working fine. Once 3.14 is included on the daily LiveCD I'll re-test to see if I still get 'no sound' on the fresh/clean image. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1280776 Title: Sound not working on Dell Latitude E7440 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1280776/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1272624] Re: [Dell Latitude E7440] 14.04 Touchpad not as smooth as Win7
Christopher M. Penalver, in the live USB of 12.04.0 the two-finger scrolling can not be activated under Settings--Mouse. The problem was not reproducable but I put that down to the OS not recognising the second finger. Edward-douse, I tried the newest version of ElementaryOS and the results were similar to 12.04.0 above -- i.e., the mouse worked fine but not with two-finger scroll. Under settings--mouse, there was an option to activate two-finger scroll but this didn't seem to do anything (i.e., scroll was still not being detected when tested in Midori and terminal apps). From these tests alone, there doesn't seem to be a regression as the touchpad driver (which allows two-finger scrolling in 14.04) is not activated in either of these OSs. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1272624 Title: [Dell Latitude E7440] 14.04 Touchpad not as smooth as Win7 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1272624/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1272624] Re: [Dell Latitude E7440] 14.04 Touchpad not as smooth as Win7
The main problem seems to be when I place a second finger close to my first finger causing the cursor to jump and jerk across the screen (i.e., disappers and reappears in any other part of the screen). I have tried to alter values in synclient to reduce this but I haven't had much luck. I've compared the touchpad sensitivity in Win7 and this doesn't happen there. As for the touchpad area, the very top and very bottom also are not respsonsive in Win7 so this is probably not an issue, just something I picked up on (#7) when searching for clues.

[Bug 869119] Re: screen goes blank before showing password prompt (inteldrmfb, cryptsetup)
This is happening to me on my 12.10 install. i.e., after boot I get a blank purple screen then followed by a blank black screen before the monitor goes into stand-by. If I switch the VT from F2 back to F7 the plymouth screen then appears fine and I can see the password box. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/869119 Title: screen goes blank before showing password prompt (inteldrmfb, cryptsetup) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/initramfs-tools/+bug/869119/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected precise ** Description changed: The NB100 came pre-installed with ubuntu and is an ubuntu certified netbook, but it does not work properly with ubuntu 11.10 i386. To load the live cd acpi=off needs to be added to the boot options and grub default command once setup for it to load. The wifi card is recognised by lspci (see below) but the network- manager (network selection tab) does not display any wireless networks. 02:00.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications Inc. AR242x / AR542x Wireless Network Adapter (PCI-Express) (rev 01) I've plugged in a wifi dongle and updated to the latest kernel (3.0.0-14) but it is still not working. [Bug 903584] Re: Toshiba NB100 Netbook fails to setup Atheros AR242x / AR542x Wireless Network Adapter
Additional info; I've had to add acpi=off and noapic to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT to allow the machine to boot properly. I'vealso tried the Ubuntu 12.10 beta 2 liveCD and it boots without these additions to grub. Network-manager also picks up my network and can connect. However, I can not install it as th machine freezes when I click the install icon. I seem to remember that I could also login to my network in a previous LiveCD, but not after installation. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/903584 Title: Toshiba NB100 Netbook fails to setup Atheros AR242x / AR542x Wireless Network Adapter To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/903584/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 903584] [NEW] Toshiba NB100 Netbook fails to setup Atheros AR242x / AR542x Wireless Network Adapter
Public bug reported: The NB100 came pre-installed with ubuntu and is an ubuntu certified netbook, but it does not work properly with ubuntu 11.10 i386. To load the live cd acpi=off needs to be added to the boot options and grub default command once setup for it to load. The wifi card is recognised by lspci (see below) but the network- manager (network selector icon) does not display any wireless networks. 02:00.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications Inc. AR242x / AR542x Wireless Network Adapter (PCI-Express) (rev 01) I've plugged in a wifi dongle and updated to the latest kernel (3.0.0-14) and run jockey to search for restricted drivers but neither fixed the problem. The battery icon is also missing although this has already been reported somewhere on the internet.
