I experienced this bug today on 16.04. I think I solved it by specifying tp_fan manually: tp_fan /proc/acpi/ibm/fan Then it started working. Maybe a coincidence though. Now that I am on a computer I see you are talking about something else. I rewrote the code that fixed that bug in a completely different way than it was being handled, but the bug is fixed. So yes, we are dropping that change. Yes, I forgot to update the PPA link when I fixed the last bug I was working on. I did test it same as the others however. You should be pulling from git not the PPA though. I'll update the link as soon as I turn my computer on. I was able to reproduce this on the latest version of Ubuntu (15.10) by dragging a hyperlink from the browser to the edge of the screen, and then letting it go (it doesn't matter where). The launcher will then not reveal until (or equivalent) is pressed. This isn't really a bug in Unity. If you turn off mouse pointer integration (under the "Machine" menu) to prevent the host from stealing the focus everything works like a charm. This means that with pointer integration enabled and auto hide turned on when the mouse reaches the edge of the screen Vbox/VMWare decide to give focus to the host, not the guest. There isn't really much Unity can do about that.
