[Bug 1878578] Re: Some menu icons are missing
I've found a workaround until the proper fix gets backported. This is not supported and may break things. Proceed at your own risk (there is a way to undo this). Install the latest `mypaint-data` from the current Ubuntu 20.10 (`groovy`) builds. 1. Visit https://packages.ubuntu.com/groovy/all/mypaint-data/download 2. Download the .deb file from any mirror 3. Install via package manager (QApt, dpkg, Ubuntu Software, etc) $ sudo dpkg -i mypaint-data_2.0.*_all.deb $ # Example: $ # sudo dpkg -i mypaint-data_2.0.0+git20200502-1_all.deb If you want to undo the changes, you can downgrade `mypaint-data`: $ sudo apt install mypaint-data=2.0.0-2 The exact version may change! Check `apt-cache show mypaint-data | grep 'Version'`. [Bug 1809407] Re: [nvidia] Corrupted wallpaper after resuming from suspend or hibernation
Having recently tried upgrading an 18.04 system to 19.10, I can confirm ~rigues 's behavior - complete screen corruption after resuming from suspend when using the Nouveau driver (NVidia driver only partly corrupts). [Bug 1809407] Re: [nvidia] Corrupted wallpaper after resuming from suspend or hibernation
I've had this issue in the past on Ubuntu 18.04 with the NVidia 340.x driver series. Two days ago with driver 340.107 and the latest released system updates, the lockscreen wallpaper corrupted for about 2 seconds on resume from suspend, then the wallpaper reloaded, appearing fine. [Bug 1421184] Re: Merge latest version (2.48.3-1) with Debian
Tim Edwards, there's another way to work-around this that might be easier. I should've added a comment on it. For the command-line client ONLY: http://packages.ubuntu.com/xenial/unison For both graphical and command-line client: http://packages.ubuntu.com/xenial/unison-gtk Make sure to download the right architecture from below, most likely 'amd64' for 64-bit, or 'i386' for 32-bit. You shouldn't need any of the dependencies; Ubuntu 14.04 has new-enough versions. If you have both packages installed (no need), you'll have to upgrade both or remove the old 'unison' package as 'unison-gtk' seems to offer the same program. I've had success directly downloading the .deb packages for Unison 2.48.3-1 and installing them on my desktop and laptop running Ubuntu 14.04 with latest updates. Nothing seems to break, just a slight sensible re-arrangement of the GUI buttons. This isn't the best idea, but it's a viable work-around for now. [Bug 1421184] Re: Merge latest version (2.48.3-1) with Debian
Would someone with the appropriate permissions mark this as affecting Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, too? The original bug report remarked on trying to use newer Unison clients with older Ubuntu servers, and in my case, I have the reverse issue - old clients, new server. For ease of transition as users upgrade their desktops and servers at different times, Unison in 14.04 could be upgraded to 2.48.3-1 with the old package available as 'unison-2.40', akin to the current setup for 'unison2.32.52': http://packages.ubuntu.com/trusty/unison2.32.52 Or, for least disruption to 14.04-only systems where server might not be managed by those with the clients, the opposite would also work, albeit perhaps less ideal - packaging 2.48.3-1 as 'unison2.48.3', leaving 'unison' untouched. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1421184 Title: Merge latest version (2.48.3-1) with Debian To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unison/+bug/1421184/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1295925] Re: Rhythmbox displays the wrong album art
I can confirm this happens quite often to me, on both desktop and laptop 14.04 installs. As suggested in #3, clearing the cached album art folder fixes it, then in a short period of time it degrades into a mess for FLAC and MP3 files. While I have not tested this solution, the bug might be related to the problem mentioned here (random album art): https://askubuntu.com/a/454692/3406 I'm willing to help with any sort of testing needed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1295925 Title: Rhythmbox displays the wrong album art To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+bug/1295925/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1168685] Re: Encrypt option doesn't work in raring
I can confirm this issue with 'seahorse-nautilus' version 3.7.5-0ubuntu1. When encrypting multiple files, it even creates the archive, but doesn't actually save a .pgp file. Decryption fails without warning as well. Note, however, that using 'gpg --encrypt file' and 'gpg file' to encrypt and decrypt works as expected, even prompting for my passphrase with the standard GTK keyring dialog. '.xsession-errors' contains the following line immediately after I correctly type the passphrase for my PGP key: (seahorse-tool:18139): GLib-WARNING **: GChildWatchSource: Exit status of a child process was requested but ECHILD was received by waitpid(). Clicking the Release selected jobs button will result in the document getting paused again. * Roughly six minutes later a notification bubble will appear stating that the printer is not connected, even though it is turned on. Additional notes: I updated CUPS today to the current version through the update manager, after which printing no longer worked. I did not change any settings, and restarting CUPS did not fix the problem. My laptop can still print to the same printer with the same settings as I have yet to upgrade cups or any related packages on it; I can check the cups version on it if it would help. Apologies for the bug spam, but with further research, I found out none of the computers in my network could print, so I don't think it's Ubuntu's fault. I'm marking this bug as invalid; if it ends up actually being a bug in CUPS, I'll re-open it. ** Changed in: cups (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/975600 Title: Printing to a network printer broken - /usr/lib/cups/backend/lpd failed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups/+bug/975600/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 500073] Re: [Lucid] Brasero cannot create dvd video or create image
This bug bit me on a fully updated Ubuntu 10.04 system when trying to copy a CD, failing with the exact same error message. However, I found a fix. According to http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=9754437postcount=3, I installed the package icedax and it worked without even having to reboot. From a terminal: sudo apt-get install icedax Should the dependencies of Brasero be updated to include this package? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/500073 Title: [Lucid] Brasero cannot create dvd video or create image To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/brasero/+bug/500073/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 604212] Re: infobox does not show
This bug still affects me on Ubuntu 11.04 64bit, fully updated as of today. I'll test it soon on my 11.10 laptop. To work around it, I've been using dialog instead of whiptail, e.g. dialog --title Testing Info Box --infobox This content will remain on-screen even after the sleep ends. 9 60 ; sleep 2 But when using whiptail, the same issue as described above happens: whiptail --title Testing Info Box --infobox You will never see this text. 9 60 ; sleep 2 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/604212 Title: infobox does not show To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/newt/+bug/604212/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 856138] Re: window decoration fails to respond
Happening here too, running Oneiric final with latest updates. I've got the System76 Pangolin Performance (revision 7) with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500 Series graphics card. The window decorations freeze in an either active or inactive state, not updating the title bar text and creating a confusing experience as several windows appear to have focus all at once. This consistently happens with nearly every single window I open; however, maximizing and restoring the window fixes it. If there's any information I can provide to help fix this problem, please let me know. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/856138 Title: window decoration fails to respond To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/856138/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
