[Bug 1847596] Re: rpi3b+: corrupted screen on hdmi

2019-10-10 Thread Stefan Bader
For arm64 /boot/firmware/config.txt looks like this (this time before
the change):

enable_uart=1
kernel=kernel8.bin
device_tree_address=0x0300
dtparam=i2c_arm=on
dtparam=spi=on
arm_64bit=1

again, added the dtoverlay and rebooted. After that screen is looking
normal.

Yes, this is the content of the file (armhf image) now (and after adding
the overlay screen corruption is gone):

enable_uart=1
kernel=uboot.bin
device_tree_address=0x0300
dtparam=i2c_arm=on

[Bug 1847596] [NEW] rpi3b+: corrupted screen on hdmi

2019-10-10 Thread Stefan Bader
Public bug reported:

Eoan daily: 20191010
Ubuntu Server arm64+raspi3
HW: Raspberrypi 3 B+

Initial boot ok but as soon as changing to the high resolution
framebuffer, the whole screen consists mostly of bright yellow and
darker yellow vertical stipes. Further boot messages are visible but
barely readable. Device is accessible via ssh. The dmesg there shows
some kernel warnings:

[Bug 1847195] [NEW] web interface locks up in connecting state

2019-10-08 Thread Stefan Bader
Public bug reported:

This happened first on migrating from xenial to bionic but the same
result I get when completely uninstalling and re-installing maas (2.6.1)
from the stable PPA. I do not get obvious errors (the logs at least to
me show nothing really unusual) but when logging in as the initial admin
user, the interface is stuck in an unusable state (see screenshot). The
only action that works is to log out again.

[Bug 1845036] Re: Xenial update: 4.4.191 upstream stable release

2019-10-01 Thread Stefan Bader
Ok, but in this case the patch from upstream did a bigger hunk of
removals. That would not have worked even with patch because to fix the
build, we have replaced two function calls within that hunk. The change
applied under the title of the revert was actually a re-do of the
initial addition of that hunk. Not the revert.

commit dd20ee8f5a91cd67ee34aec07b446a3a20b82d01
Author: Sasha Levin
Date:   Tue Aug 27 22:58:51 2019 -0400

Revert "perf test 6: Fix missing kvm module load for s390"

Above patch should not have applied cleanly from linux-4.4.y because we
fixed it up already. It is not mentioned above that there was anything
specially done. However the committed result is not what the upstream
stable did. Instead of removing a function, it gets added (a second time
as the fixed up version we did is still present). Not sure how this did
happen.

[Bug 1834681] Re: Enable napi_tx for GCP/GKE kernels

2019-09-23 Thread Stefan Bader
This likely looks confusing but the bionic/gcp kernel (rolled to 5.0) is
based on the disco/gcp kernel, so the patch(es) only need to go to disco
and then come back automatically.
